my freind sold his raptor and was looking at getting another quad.so i talked him into cking out a cannon dale.the nearest dealer is team bozman motorsports,i called them and they said they had a fx400 that had been updated to a speed, wanted 7500.00,so i asked him about the updates and asked him how well it ran against a raptor.he told mthe CD would pull a stock raptor out of the hole and halfway through 2nd gear on the raptor would drive by the dale.well thats all he had to say and my buddie bought a SE raptor.he told me the computer was updated, ect.if the dales are so fast why was this one a turd?could it be mapping?and why would the dealer that was setting on a updated hold over fx400 lie, even though they sell yamaha also.notomention my freind bought the raptor from another dealer.

The upgraded FX is faster than the Raptor and should have been selling for $5,000 - $5,500 and NO MORE! It looks like that guy was doin some "malpractice" he prolly got the quad cheap, was told to sell it in the $5000 range, and then decided that he would make some extra money off of someone that doesn't know better.
Alaska400ex - I was told my 300ex would go about 75 and that a 400ex would go about 85 mph. So it's not just C-dale dealers. One thing I love about goin to dealerships is hearing the dealer spit out all this crap about how fast something is and how much power it has, and then when they're done, start proving them wrong. Kinda suprises them .

Yodaddy,
True, true...that's why you have to do your own homework and go in to the dealership knowing more than they do. That is pretty much what happened in my situation and I got my Speed for about the price of a Cannibal...200.00 over. I am happy for all the quality Cannondale owners in this forum to help keep us aware of updates, problems, etc. I am picking up my new gas tank and tool kit tomorrow thanks to info from this site. Next will be my transmission sight window.........JIM

Your gas tank leaks too? I went in to have them put in a new tank and the damm thing was the same. The cap doesnt seal. Cannondale can make an aluminum framed quad with fuel injection but cant build a stupid gas tank. That strikes me as funny. Oh well, cant wait to see how long it takes for a sight window.

Geez, owell atleast ALL dealers aren't like that. I think KNOWSALOT might be the last human dealer out there.

C'mon Gary....this was a dealer we're talking about. A dealer that sells both Yamaha and Cannondale was trying to tell me how bad a Raptor would beat a Cannondale on/off the track. He told me the Raptor had 40+ horsepower, even more torque, handled better than a 400ex and went about 85 mph....he wasn't blowin smoke?
It's pretty bad when you hear stories from dealerships. A person that does not know too much about the machines, depends on their knowledge....it's real bad when a dealer fills your head with lies.
