Mine was a special circumstance since I was told my refurbished 01 was on a truck and it wasn't. It would have been at LEAST three more weeks for my 01, so Cannondale either made it right or I was buying another Z-400 the next day. I had already waited three weeks for my refurbished 01. A dealer that had an unsold Z and no bites in a small town was anxiously waiting a decision from Cannondale. Cannondale did the right thing or I would have wrote them off for fibbing and owned two Z's....

Got my speed for 7500 when msrp is 7999. I had to get the bike in oklahoma though the dealer here in salt lake was adding around 300 for setup and documentation. I feel pretty good about my purchase after riding this weekend. It was worth every penny beating my brothers banshee up the dunes. (his banshee only has a pipes)

ScramblerXcitement,

R & S Performance has an ad in the Indiana Auto & RV that has 2002 Cannibals for $6,495, no freight, no setup and doc, and every aftermarket item available for Cannondale quads, have you been there yet?

Thanks for the R&S tip. I'd like to get down there soon to see the Speed. I know it lists $1000 more than the Cannibal but from what I've read, there's at least $1000 worth of differences between the Cannibal and the Speed. This might sound like a silly question but from time-to-time when I ride we seem to always find water to go through in a creek or river and since the battery is mounted low on the Cannondales, it's probably not a good idea not to submerge the Cannondale in any water? Or at least not to the battery? What do you guys think????

Another question--what type of riding wouldn't be advised for a Cannondale? Can it be trolled slowly through the woods on trails?

Thanks

Scott
