Disturbed, apparently it's been a while since you've eaten apples and oranges!! The C'dales have a stock 13 tooth front sprocket, you had a 12, that is a difference whether you want to acknowledge it or not!
So, 12 tooth vs. 13 tooth/ apples - oranges
V-groove paddles vs. straight blade paddles/ apples - oranges (why do you think all the serious sand draggers run straight blade haulers, because they have superior traction versus the v-groove paddles)
Each starting in first gear/ apples - apples

I'm just funnin' with you Disturbed! I liked my Raptor, it had gobs of torque, and it definitely was a good looking quad!!

Trout, as far as loosing power in the higher gears in the sand, that definitely should not happen. I drag all the time in the dunes and I bump the rev limiter all the time, including in 5th gear!! Now keep in mind that is not up any hills, it's on the flats at LS where everyone drags. If you were having that problem than yes, I would say your motor has some serious problems, but once again, Cannondale is coming to the rescue!! What a great company!!

yeah they are a great company. I hope the motor they send me is the new ones that have 10-20% more power than last years, one can only hope! I ll be happy with whatever I get as long as I dont have to wait too long.

I don't understand- a properly jetted/air box/exhaust raptor should produce 45 to 49 hp. And only weighs 30 or so more pounds. A cannon has roughly 40 hp and 30 pounds less, roughly. There is no way a remap is going to net much better hp, or a slip-on. If a remap produced 5 more hp, i find it hard to believe thAT the base cannons will even run. That said, the only advantage that a c-dale has is up hills will revs are better on the dale. The raptor is flat up top (that is true) produces its power low to mid. Harry at trinity is working on the dales and i know he will find the ponies. Most of the raptor owners that i ride with are past the basic mods and into the motor. Top end power is easily found. A dale is a great quad, just not at the strip. A 13thoth sprocket is always faster on the strip than a 12, but not the ticket for trails.

briansgi, You hit the nail on the head & didn't even know it.

Serious sand draggers run Haulers not Roosters.

A Baja at Atoka was running straight blade Roosters & I beat him by 4 lenghts In 100 yards 3 times (I Have 22x11x10 Extreme Haulers)!! I talked too him to see if he was having problems because I knew something wasn't right. He said his tires were spinning & causing him to hit the rev limiter in every gear & he was in 5th gear at the finish line while I was in 3rd. He came to the next race with Extremes & we were neck & neck all 3 runs ( I won 2 he won 1) He was no longer hitting the rev limiter & was in 3rd gear at the finish.

So I doubt the straight Roosters get much if any more bite than the angled ones. so the tire diffrence shouldn't be a big factor.

How about it trout & disturbed have you noticed the same thing or was this a phenominum of a smooth well groomed drag track. or is there a big diffrence between the angled & straight Roosters in the dunes?? I've never seen a set except at Atoka & they sure didn't seem to like a big bore quad.

I'm not tring to start a flame or put down your tires, I'm jusy saing they don't seem to be the drag tire that the Extreme Haulers are.

Trout and Disturbed660, sorry I couldn't meet up with you guys. I had to cancel the annual Mem Day trek since I was in the hospital for 6 days.

Anyway, Disturbed, I would like to host the videos for you on my site. Let me know.

Also, please let me know if you are definately going back June 14/15. I will hopefully be back in riding shape by then and can meet up with you. I have a whole cooler full of beer that went untouched this weekend.

You guys should have REALLY raced at the "flats" It's at least 200 to 250 yards long and you can really see who's faster. The little "comp" hill is too short and gives the advantage to whoever gets the best holeshot.

Trout, Let me know as well next time you are heading to Walden, I need help with those beers.

Next post I make on here will read "Smoked Trout and BBQed Raptor" Kidding, Kidding!!!!

Moose, enjoyed your web site, great pics of LS. How often do you make it to LS? My son and I used to go all the time but now he's racing his R every weekend so that's put a damper on the trips out west. We'll have to link up sometime out at LS, it's always more fun riding with more people!!
