Carbs... who needs em?

I love carbs. Easy to change to Alky if I get a wild hair. Cheaper. If I modify my machine, I can run to a local shop and pick up a couple of jets instead of sending parts off and hope they come back with the right combo.
I have a friend that is going Alky inject on a 540 Chevy street truck. I am tossing around the idea of injection on my 521 ford street truck, but I am leaning towards a 8-71 blower with carbs. Both have advantages. We are both running Alky carbs now. Reminds me of a shirt I seen once. It read, "Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown!"
For front brake lines, YODADDY, I would look at russel braided steel. You don't have the line flex with steel that you do with rubber. Try something. Hold your fingers on the outside of you rubber line and squeeze the lever. Feel the line get bigger around? Braided don't do this. Much better brake feel.

The C'dales come with braided stainless steel front brake lines from the factory!!
Carbs, give me EFI any day!! I used to own a 1970 Cuda 440 6-pak car. You want to talk about carb nightmares!! Try getting all three of those 2 barrel pigs setup properly along with the linkage!!

The stock lines are steel braided... Don't worry, I would NEVER go back to rubber lines... they just feel "mushy" to me.
As for sending parts back and hoping for the right combo, the computer will automatically compensate for air and exhaust changes, so when I get mine remapped, I can run any pipe on it and it will run at top notch... Not that you can't do that with carbs, but it just takes a lot of fine tuning, and it seems like a lot of people don't know how to do that. I hear a lot bikes and quads "cutting out" and backfiring like crazy, and they're always messing with those dang jets. On the other hand, you can make all the adjustments on your own with a carb... I don't want people thinkin that I was bashin "non-FI" quads, bikes, or cars... I was just bored and felt like sayin something stupid .
I LOVE EFI and would really hate goin back to carbs (actually, I wouldn't trade my Cannondale for anything... not just a carb thing) and I'm not really that good at messin with the jets and fine tuning it.
P.S. If I did have rubber lines, I couldn't try pinching the line and pullin the brake lever because the brake line completely broke off by the brake fluid box... had a little wreck in my last race. It was kind of cool though. You could pull in the lever and a little oil would shoot out that connection that goes to the brake line... Hmmmm... maybe I could use that in my races ... someone tries to pass me and I pull in the lever and shoot brake fluid on there goggles, causing them not to be able to see . hehehe

Sorry guys, I didn't realize they came with steel lines (no dale dealer within at least 100 miles. I just put them on my banshee and love them. Thinking of changing all my bikes over.
I will try to get the pics of my 1968 ford F-100 up here. It sports the 521.
