Thats Bs, I was racing at Red Bud at a local race yesterday.Quad B what I was racing and There was a 426 in a custom the whole 9 yards 15k. He was also the points leader in the class. Me and my 3 friends were racing in the class. On the holeshot we beat him and in both moto's we beat him. There were also 2 raptors built full out in our class too and they did worst than the guy on the 436. Goes to prove that its all rider. The dale has enough Hp. I pulled a Holeshot at a local race on a 450f last week also. So dont say it doesn have the Hp because it does.

 

Im not talking about drags. On the Mx track its rider. Im sure they are good engines, but you have to have a good rider to make the bike perform.

 

Put the better rider, or as good rider, on the better machine and what do you get? SMOKED!!

Hmmm... I thought I replied to this topic. Oh well, I guess not.

I got to thinking about it, and I realized that saying, "Put riders of equal skills on a Cannondale and on a 400ex (just an example...), and the Cannondale will win." is plain stupid. I've been guilty of saying the same thing, but now that I think about it, if you get someone on a 400ex that rides just as good as someone on a Cannondale, they would be tied. MX is all rider. I've seen a guy on a stock engined Mojave, out run hopped up R's on the track. If you don't believe me, I invite anyone to go to Swan MX on August 25th, or Badlands MX on August 10th, and see for your self. As far as I see, if two riders race, and they both ride their best and one still gets beat, than one rider is just better, and machine has nothing to do with it. When the machine doesn't have enough power to make a certain jump, than that is a exception, but yall know what I mean.

ROD - Nothing against you, that just kind of hit me all of a sudden. Let me know when you get the quad done. I'll be more than willing to line em up. Ok, now I know I've replied to this before! because I remember askin if your 450 motor was stock or not, and then I said it doesn't matter because I'll line up against anything, but I was just wondering........ Yodaddy, If you put EQUAL experienced riders on different machines, the faster and better handling machine will always finish in front. Your Mojave example obviously had the better rider on the Mojave if he was beating modded 250r's! You switch to a stock 400EX on any decent MX track and see if you can ride as fast as you would be able to on your Cannon. That Cannon would be pullin' away from the 400EX if it was the same rider. P.S. My builder's CRF450 is done and it is a BEAST!! We'll be at Splendora in Houston this weekend.

 

yeah, I guess you could look at it two ways. It also depends on the track, and if you get right down to every aspect of it (what the rider feels comfortable on and all those little things like that) than what I was saying would make a little more sence. But generally speaking, yes, the high HP quad will win (if you are comparing two equal skilled riders). I guess I'm just thinkin about it to much [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]. All this thinking that I'm doing and I'm not even in school yet... man, I might actually make all A's this year... ok, maybe all B's... ok, ok, I'll probably just edge on by with C's like I do every year [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img].

ROD/14mins- Are yall gonna be doing riding at the big city of Aledo on Aug 17 or 18th by any chance? I probably won't be able to afford going to Lorretta's this year, so I'll be racing at Village Creek on Aug 17, which isn't to far away from Aledo.

 

Rod and YOMX71- I will groom the track for a 2 quad shootout. Yo i have never seen you ride, but mr rod will air it out. When we are all in the dunes jumping(I spot) i tell each one they were 2 foot shorter than the last guy. After a few minutes they are hitting those hills at ungodly speed. lol Rod take some geritol yo is only 17 years old.

 

I don't think you would have wanted to see me ride. LOL, that black dirt gets pretty slick when it's pouring down raining, and then the fact that I had no front brakes, lol, lets just say, I could have ridden faster if I was riding my Grandma's electric wheelchair/scooter thing (I forget what those are called).

Better rider doesnt always win, there was a guy on a Banshee at red bud who didnt take any of the jumps and still won. Why?? Cuz he had engine work up the wazuuuuuuuuuu. Doesnt mean he was the better rider.
