Sold my 250r getting Cannondale, need ? on aftermarket parts.

I just sold my tricked out '88 250r which had a +3 TimmyBoy front end and no link swingarm with TCS zero preload shocks all around. I will be getting a Speed shortly. The first aftermarket item I want to purchase is an axle. What are you Dale guys running and how much did you pay? I want aftermarket front shocks but are the stock Ohlins any good for racing? I weigh 220lbs. and I know they are on the stiff side. How about a-arms. How much and what brand? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

The nice thing about the Ohlins is that they are rebuildable and don't have to be replaced if they get worn out or don't perform like you like - simply send them to a reputable suspension builder and he should be able to respring and revalve it to your riding style. The fronts are similar to the familiar Works shocks, but don't have some of the inherent problems that the Works "Steeler" bodies have.
I found that the Ohlins weren't stiff at all. The stiffness most people complain about is actually coming from tight control arm bushings. If you want your suspension to work well, you must first make sure that the components can move freely. Stock Cannondale front suspension does not.
The rear Ohilns shock is a very nice unit. There is absolutely no reason to replace it.
Check with RPM or Lonestar for an axle.
