Re-Valve Ohlins or get PEP's ???

Thanks LT. I'll get ahold of him.
Jeff,
Please let me know how the Blaze works for ya. I'm looking at doing this in November for next years season, so time really isn't an issue. I've ridden 400's with Elka's and I've been real impressed. I just don't have the extra money over the PEP's. The PEP's alittle above the limits I had set by the wife, but I can coax her into saying "Okay".
Are you running any type of steering stablelizer? I'm also trying to justify the $350 Scotts unit over the $150 Denton unit.

Jcv, do you run the GNCC's? If so, find me at one of the races and I'll let you ride it! We are in a white 24'enclosed trailer that says TheQuadShop on the side. I put a PEP on the Speed and it does make a huge difference. I have always run steering dampner on all my quads and I won't run without one!
The Scotts dampner would be nice but the cheaper ones should do you just fine.
The Elka's should be cheaper than the PEP's, and you don't have to wait 2 months to get them.

i don't know who said eight weeks on the peps but you are about 16 weeks off. for new shocks from pep (not rebuilding old pep shocks) you will wait 6 months. too long. i run pep zps shocks on my 250 and love them. i can glide smooth as silk over stuff that beats my poor buddy's 250r to death. they are worth every penny, but if i was to do it over again i would try custom axis or maybe even tcs. they are very close to pep in performance and you can get them in a decent amout of time. pep just takes too long!!! this is for motor cross only. i have never raced cross country and can not say on them. airitme

PEP delivery varies believe it or not my buddy got his for his dale in less than two weeks. It all depends on how busy wayne is and he is a very busy man at certain times of year since he is at every national race. The best way is to go to a national and wait till he isnt to busy and talk to him.He is in the Baldwins trailer you would be amazed at the guys that will take interest in your racing if you take a chance at talking to them.
Scott Montgomery,Walshes,Tom Carlson,Daryl Rath,Doug Gust everyone they are all racers at heart and are very friendly and they are all at the nationals.

Oh yeah, no doubt. Everyone I've talked to has been great. I only live 20 mins from Tom's shop, so I've been there a couple of times. I didn't know Scott Montgomery went to the races though, I take it he's usually at the NAC'S trailer?
Thanks for your help guys, I moved the stablizer purchase up to next month now after reading your replies and ridng a 400 with one on it. I'm still going to talk to Ohlins at the national in St Clairsville before I make my decision. My shocks have taken alot of abuse since April, so they seem durable.
I just talked to Joey at Ohlins.(pronounced Oh-leens, I was corrected, lol) $1400 for custom front shocks. Fully adjustable, triple rate and rezzs.
looking at $120 to re-valve the front shocks, $65 spring assy., $15 for collar, and something else for $7. Same cost for the rear. So I'm looking at about $600 total. This would give me non-adjustable triple rate shocks dialed in for my weight and riding style.
Now, is an extra $1,000 worth having the adjustability for me to be able to change my Compression and Rebound??????

Maybe this will help with your decision. I just got done talking to Lazrus (sp) at GT Thunder and he said he can upgrade the stock Ohlins fronts on the Speed for $500 . What the up-grade incluses is triple rated shock w/ remote ressy w/ compression adjustment, on top of that they are ZPS shocks too!!!! All that for $500 bucks and he said that the shocks don't need to be revalve with this up-grade. Here is their website GT Thunder.
And their Phone number is (330)674-7122. I plan on having him do mine at the end of the season, since I'm in the 4-stroke stock class right now.
