Can the mapping software be copied? Has anyone given it a shot? It seems like the there is always on computer guru out there that can figure things out. I'm trying to find that guy.

From my understanding you can copy the disk but it won't do you any good. The ECU has a code you have to call for your key to unlock the code in the software. This keeps people from doing what your asking.

Step up and get it, when youdo send me a copy. LOL

This is something that can be done even with the code by some hacker somewhere. The hacker community and the atv community just aren't very intertwined.

I posted a thread with a similar question on the forum a couple of weeks ago. I didnt get any help. I have the program on my laptop but no codes. I am like you, I know there is someone out there who can hack the code or someone who can just share theirs with us. But at the moment I have the program with no code, so it does me no good. I will keep trying to get a code and if I do I will let you know. I would also appreciate it that if you figure it out you would let me know.

The code is P.C. specific in other words even if you have a legit code if you use it on a different pc it wont work.In what way it recognizes the pc is the key.
I think some people have already made there own whole version of the software but they either are afraid to post it or have been shut down when they did there also is the question of the black box on the patch cord.
If a guy figures the amount of time for a specialist to do this it would hardly seem worth it time is money and the base version is only $300 and then you get the support of Optimum.Look at it this way at the price of good tools it doesnt take long to reach $300 a Snap-On impact and set of sockets will easily cost that.Worth it heck yes.You dont have to worry abut breaking them and if you do they cover it and they are a huge time saver. Its the same with legit
software.

Cannondale27,

Your right, even if you only get the base software, it's more than worth the trouble. Yes, some people may be working on their own, but to get the SUPPPORT from Optimum is going to be worth buying a LEGIT version anyway. Remember, the more sales the less cost.
