I drained my tranny oil today and somehow the filter dropped down in and I spent 2 hours trying to get it out. I finally took the bottom part of the frame off so I could get a straight shot at it. I also ruined the filter. I still love this bike and wouldn't trade it for anything. Probably just a fluke. Anyone else have this problem.

watch out u put it the right way in if that's possible to look at with the bolt in but watch out screwing the bolt in if you hav to put alot of torque to screw it back in. the filter might not of lined up right and you could bend the filter i'm talking from experance $40

Yea, i'm a member of the filter replacement club! After 2 hours i turned the quad on it's side and got it out.
That's a hilariously frustrating screwup. I ran without it for a couple weeks.

I did the samething awhile back. I wait til the last minute to change the oil (day before a race) and guess what 2 hours later and a zip tie I got the thing out and reinstalled the correct way.
I think what makes it so hard is the frame is in the way.

Me to.On the new quads the hole inside the motor is tighter so you can put the filter in the hole first and it stays centered screw plug in by hand allthe way then tighten use anti sieze.
Must be some kind of test of patience cannondale designed to see if you are worthy to own a Dale.Never heard of it happening twice to the same guy.
