Default Questions on Motor?

Last night I received an '01 motor out of a Cannibal. It came with everything from the airbox to the fuel pump. The guy I bought it off of was very straight forward and I have no reasons to doubt him, but I want to make sure everything is in perfect running order before I sell it to anyone else. So my question is, how can I hook up the motor without installing it in my quad to fire the motor? The only thing that I am really concerned with is feeding the motor with oil, any suggestions? The bottom frame rails are still attached to the motor, so I figured that I could build a stand to secure the motor when firing it. Anything else I need to look for? Thanks!

The C'dale has a dry sump oil system. So if you do not have the upper frame rails which house the crank case oil, you won't be able to run the motor.

The dry sump oil system is iin almost every sport quad these days. I figured I could rig up an oil container to feed the motor for a short run, maybe I can't?

i dont why you couldnt. the frame is just an odd shaped holding tank. what about exhaust. you could damage the valves running without an exhaust system

Why go through all the hassle of doing this if you are going to sell it anyway. Just sell it the way it was sold to you.

I haven't heard the engine run, it came out of a wrecked cannibal that hit a tree square in the front. The motor ran fine and was ridden after the crash, I guess its just because I haven't heard the engine run! Maybe I will have to pay Kyle @ R&S a visit, he said he would help hook it up and test it to make sure everything was A-Ok.

BTW: It is for sale or trade, I am looking for a 250r or Banshee

If you're real energetic, drop the motor from your blaze and stick this other motor in your quad. Be good practice anyway when you go to adjust your valves!!

Anybody got any good ideas where to post the motor for sale on the net? Besides Ebay?

what are you looking to get out of the motor? I take it the motor is a non-updated motor as far as all the motor recalls Cannondale did? Interested...and curious...........JIM

I agree with briansgi, just drop your Blaze engine and hook-er-up!!! It might be a little work, but it would be a sure way to tell if it works right. That and you would essentially have a spare motor for your quad. All the computer stuff stays on the quad, right?! So you'd have a spare ECM along with a bunch of other parts... BTW, how much did you pick the engine up for???
