Well this afternoon my boss called me in his office and told me that I was laid-off do to lack of work. He said that this should only be for a month to a month and a half. So I don't think I'm going to be able to get the nw quad unless the loan goes thru before they find out. Because of this I won't be able to talk that much on this site since my home computer has a slow connection plus I won't have alot of time to chat. I'll be busy looking for work just in case I don't get called back. If anybody knows of anyone hiring or looking for a Desinger/engineer with 5 years of field experience let me know. i would like to head in the atv direction if possible but any type in this field will work. I'll try too stay in touch when I can. Thanks everybody and goodluck racing.

Sorry to hear fo your bad luck Mike. Hope things get better for you soon.
I wouldn't worry too much about getting a new quad. You've already got the best thing available for racing off the showroom floor.
Don't be a stranger and stop by and post when you can.

Wow, that sucks man. Hope everything works out for you. Well, at least it's during hunting season! :-) You shouldn't have any trouble with an engineering degree. Pretty soon you'll be turning down positions...

Sorry to hear about that.Try to look at it in a positive way you will have time to get all the projects done that you didnt have time for or would have had to hire someone to do.Maybe the job you find will be better than the last. While you are off of work your boss may find that you were more valuable than he thought. You will be able to spend time with family and friends.Maybe even volunteer at the local track or anywhere that needs help. You will finally be getting back some of that money they take off your check every week.I dont know you well but you seem to be a ambitious, neat(from the looks of your quad),take pride in your work, educated(so you arent afraid to learn)the right opportunity will come your way guaranteed!

AAHHHHHH, the easy life. I was laid off in June due to "Market Conditions" I did get 5 1/2 months severance though. Nice, in that time I have started my own Company. I have also found a new job with a much higher earning potential than the last one.
Am I still mad about getting laid off, you bet. The nice thing is when one door closes there are usally several more that open up, and are more suited to what you want to do.
It's not all doom and gloom. Take a couple of days and figure out what YOU really want to do and head in that direction.
Good Luck.

if you're a design engineer looking to get into quads, look into Arctic Cats web site at their job postings. They always seem to be looking for designers. Wouldn't be a bad job if you're willing to move to northern MN. Cat could use some changes in their line-up.
