Yet another shootout
#1
I read in a mag (can't remember which one) while waiting in Wal-Mart a shootout with a Cannibal and a Z400. Not surprisingly, I guess, the Z400 was the "overall" winner with it's appeal to the "masses" as the reason. They were extremely impressed tho' with the C-dale and loved its power, just didn't think it would appeal to the average joe-rider. They mentioned something I've seen in other mags as well with regards to engine "clatter." They claim the engine clatters and vibrates considerably at idle and low RPMs until it is revved. Do you 'dale riders notice this too or is it another case of ATV rags nit-picking on Cannondale to not win another shootout?
It's just a similarity I've noticed in a couple of publications and wondered if true.

Driven by Ignorance,
First off the Cannondale is a little noisey. However the noise is generated by the straight cut gears for the cams, which is amplified by the side cover. This is not a problem just a little noise. Secondly the money issue by the big four is still a driving factor, even as unfair as it may be. I've rode both and while the Z400 is a nice bike, it doesn't match the feel of my Cannondales. I wouldn't trade one of em for two Susuki's.

one big problem seems to be the sticker price of the c-dale. i did not pay anywhere close to sticker for my cannible and alot of people did not either. i believe the c-dales are little more than the other quads when it is all said and done.
