...if you are to believe the latest news, as posted at Racer X. Seems that Pegasis bought both the bike and motorsports divisions, and they stated that they do not intend to start the motorsports back up. Makes you wonder why they purchased it in the first place.

My understanding was that they wee a company that buys failing companies and then breaks them up to sell at a profit. I don't believe they ever planned to run either division of Cannondale. If there are no interested buyers then the assets of the motorsports division will be auctioned off. No more Cannondale quads or motorcycles ever.

What doesn't make sense is that Pegasus was the high bidder for the motorsports division. I'm sure that they will make some money selling off the inventory of the motorsports division, but will they really recoup what they bid on it??? Why would they buy it if they had zero intention of keeping things going?!?!

It just pisses me off, I suppose...

Pegasus was the company that loaned Cannondale all that money last year. They never actually paid any money to anyone they were allowed to set the price the bidding was to start at and obviously that amount would have covered all the money they were owed plus some.Nobody was willing to meet that starting bid so now it is theres if they want it.Whether or not they have to put up money I dont know but the money would go back to them anyway since Cannondale owed it to them. This is way to complicated for me to fully understand so why even bother.Cannondale has a great product with a future. If someway cant be found to save it I will just chalk it up to the sadstate of affairs big bussiness is in in our country and their failure to look to the future and their need to make money now no matter what the cost to workers and local economies.Someday the circle will come around and they will realize long term is the way to run a business.

I heard on one of the other forums from John Arens (ArensBros) that they leased the building and the machines. Some of the machines performed double duty making bicycle parts and quad/dirtbike parts. I think all someone really has to buy is the plans and rites and maybe hire a couple of the main engineers. I'm sure they want a lot to buy these things to cover the debt but it's not like someone has to buy an entire manufacturing plant. I don't really see what Pegasus could sell off if everything was leased other than leftover parts or leftover quads/dirtbikes. You would think that they would make more by selling the motorsports division for any amount.

If a manufacturer had the money they could buy these rites/plans hire the engineers to work with their own engineers to work out the remaining glitches and then outsource some of the manufacturing and make a killing. Provided it was a reputable name that everyone believed in.

its usually something to do with the stock market...it makes there stock shares prices go up for some reason?? microsoft gave money to the dieing company CRAPINTOSH..why? he hates jobs and the computer..and there is not enough mac users out there to say because he sells software to them.. also a good tax right off too.
EX--- i use to be a commodore amiga junky hehehe we waited for ever for this other company to buy them with hopes of the new amiga. they bought the company there stocks rose and they dumped the amiga??? it sucks but it works that way.
