Default Is the clock ticking for two srokes???

I was thinking of buying an Banshee, but I also heard that after Dec. 31 2005, they will nolonger be selling then. Is this true, will they still sell parts, or let the two strokes drive on public land?

Thanks

Reed

new regulations from the good ole epa go into effect in 2006. parts for previous models will still be available. as far as riding areas go, around here there have been some places with a 2-stroke ban. thas one reason why i decided to go ahead and join the 4-stroke world again and got a 450R. its only enevitable that more places will ban 2 strokes. i hate to see it happen.

help me if i am wrong, but as far as the banshee goes, other than the VW beetle
(they continued to make the "old" one in mexico for years until recently) i cant think of any model vehicle that has sold for that many of years straight without any significant changes.

i kinda miss my banshee though- theres nothing like the sound of it- but theyve come ALONG way with 4strokes lately.

There are so many aftermarket parts companies for the Banshee that you will be able to get parts for many years to come. There are ALOT of Banshees out there. I would not worry. If there is a ban on 2-strokes, it is for new ones, not current ones.

I see these concerns from people all the time. I'm curious what news sources are convincing people that the 2-stroke gestapo will show up at your house to take away your 2-stroke on Jan 1 2006.

I understand that there may be some certain allowances, such as making them run cleaner, but yes- for the most part they will go the way of the Do Do bird.........

im wondering the same thing... i dont think anyone on here said that someone would show up at your house on 01/01/2006 to get your 2-stroke. the ban is on manufacturers to either comply with new regulations or stop making new, 2006 non-"competition only" models. If you already have a 2 stroke - they should not be coming to get it from you.

Now like i mentioned before, some riding areas have already banned them and i hate to say it but probly more places will ban them as well.

... Hey twenty, I raised the question in another forum about how the 250R and the new 450R compare. Does the 450R live up to the lore of the LEGENDARY 250R? thanks- and your very fortunate to have a model of each.

2 strokes are the victim to evil corruption made by those rich bastards. Banshees as far as i have heard will be sadly departing us at the end of the 2005 model year. BUT, after almost 20 years of production, do you honestly think they will stop the banshee??? NO!!!! it will live on long into the future as one of the greatest drag quads ever!!

Keep em runnin and smokin!! run a little extra oil in ur fuel!!!
