Those in support of John Kerry.......
#1
Hello, I just wanted to take a few minutes to talk to anyone who doesn't really know why to vote. This election maybe the most important that any of us have ever seen. I am not here to completly bash John Kerry, but I am here to inform some of you who think you are a democrat or a republican because of the way your parents prefer to vote.
Years ago it was simple if you had money you were most likely a republican and if you were poor you usally voted democrat. Then you have the topic of liberals and conservatives, which if you break it down conservatives have morals and liberals do not. Alot of you younger guys may not under stand how it all works, well its like this and I'm sure alot of people will disagree but it's true. The democratic party uses people for votes, trust me I come from a long line of teamster office holders "I know first hand". Democrats go after minorities and organized groups " unions, naacp, unions and minority groups. They tell these groups if they get elected they will do this and that for them, which in a way they kinda do but its usally not legit. they promise every thing in the world to them so that in return the groups donate money to them, and once they get elected they give money back to the groups but guess what it's not their money that goes back to them it's your, mine, and our parents money. It's called taxes, democrats love to raise taxes so that they can grease the pockets of their supporters with the money that we work all week for. See republicans on the other hand make their money a little differant, they like to cut taxes so that companies can hire more people, make more products, sell more products, which in return make their stocks go up. Which one seams more economical to you?
For example if you add up all of the new programs that kerry wants to start the funding comes up to roughfly 2.6 trillion dollars, do you think that will come out of his wallet? He also says that he will fund all of this and lower the dept at the same time, sure he can when him and the feds that he controlls raise your taxes about 7%
Ok lets talk about the war for a minute. Well the democrats want to act like bush just got this wild hair up his *** to go over and invade them for personal gain. Thats a little far feched, infact the last three presidents that we have had all delt with this issue. As far as the weapons go, if you had years to hide something in your yard it would be pretty easy to do it to were no one would ever find it. Let alone in a whole country. The whole reason we elect the president is for him to run the country and he then apoints people to help him do that, well john kerry wants the UN to make the decisions for our country, that ain't right. the same people that turned their back on us, he wants them in control of what we do. If I can only say one thing it is that George bush has his own *****.

250A1,
Your post is very simplistic, and is contradictive in it's essence. You are pushing exactly what you are claiming the Dems are guilty of. You can't have it both ways.

And never in the history of one Presidents term, have there been a loss of MORE jobs in America.
Im certainly not suggesting that Kerry is the answer, but dont bloat Bush's ego.

First off every election is very important. I don't see this one as any more important than others. Though it may set the tone for the next 4 years for the country as a whole, and some local issues are very important where I live.
Indeed, most people do tend to fall in line with their parents thinking as that is the way we are raised. My mom was very liberal, though she's moved slightly right (mostly in dealing with crime.) So I do come with that background.
Now, saying that liberals don't have morals, while conservatives do is complete nonsense. It just depends on what YOUR morals are, whether or not you believe a particular party, as a whole, have morals.
Both parties use voters. Just depends on which side you are on. I can you haven't noticed, the Republican Party has been going after "minority" votes in the last couple election cycles. Why? Well, because there are so many. I believe in California, there's no longer a majority of any ethnicity. To me, they just see them as votes. As all politians see most people as just votes. Do they really care about you? No. Really, they don't. Unless you are a big campaign donor or a personal friend, they could really care less. If they weren't campaigning, they probably wouldn't give you a second thought.
I work for an open shop electrical contractor and have seen what the unions can do. They cost us about $50K a year or two ago. Unions at one time had thei place, but mostly they are now just there to feed themselves.
As far as how the different parties spend money or "make" money for the governemnt I don't fall for that. If that was true, then the economy would be running full speed ahead with Bush in the White House wouldn't it? I believe Congress is split with the Senate being "controlled" by the Democrats and the House being "controlled" by Republicans, but I may be wrong on that. As far as raising taxes, I think we all know about "Read my lips, no new taxes." The problem with the "Great Tax Cut" was that it happened way too late. 6 mos. to a year before, and it might have worked. Ask most repsected econimists and they will tell you that. It was too little, too late. People equate the Democrats to "Tax and Spend." Well I equate the Republicans to "Cut taxes and spend." Which makes any more sense than the other. The Republican mantra is like being in debt, quiting your job for one that pays less. It doesn't work.
I haven't seen Kerry's or Bush's budget or program proposals so I'm not going to comment on them. But from what I've heard of Bush's long term proposed budget, everything looks good this year, but has massive cuts in the next 2 years for education.
As far as the war in Iraq, I don't support it. I don't really think that Hussein was a threat to the United States. By all accounts bin Laden despised Hussein do to Hessein invading Kuwait. Even the Administration gives conflicting statements about the connection. I would be more worried about the Saudi connection to al Queda. And as far as the WMDs go, there were some screw ups. CIA gave him bad information by some accounts. But who knows. I haven't seen any heads rolling out of there. But everything that's coming out now is that there were no WMDs. He hadn't had any in years.
The thing with Bush is that he comes off as a cowboy. Someone who just goes at it alone, or pressures others to join. I often remember back to the "Either you're with us, or you're against us." Sorry, false dichotomy. Most people from other countries see Bush as a blathering idiot. And to me, that's what he comes off as. He may have gone to Yale or Harvard or whatever it is, but he comes off as uneducated and unarticulate.
To me, we've lost more rights and freedoms under this administration than any other. Granted, the entire Congress did vote for the USA Patriot Act without so much as any debate. And as you may have noticed, courts are tossing it out piece by piece. I don't agree with the way we are holding prisoners from other countries, and labeling them as enemy combatants. Sorry, they are POWs and should be accorded the protections of the Geneva Convention and other treaties. I believe that the constitution applies to ALL people who come into contact with the United States. Not just our citizens. And thankfully the US Supreme Court agrees on that.
Will I be voting for Bush, definately not. Kerry, about a 99% chance of not voting for him. Who then? I don't know. There are more choices for President than those two men. I do encourage people to search out third party candidates if you aren't satisfied with Bush or Kerry. Bush vs. Kerry is the ultimate false dichotomy. I believe there are about 6 or so candidates in California. This will very from state to state. By voting for someone other than these two, you send the parties, and the candidates a message that you aren't happy with them.
