Put my NO in, but still way behind.

PI pulled the poll on the 9th at about 51 - 49%. I do have a copy of it at 48.8- all
NEXT ISSUE there is a link to Reichert to give your comments on his mistake here. You would think a person who has sworn to uphold the law....who was the King co. sheriff would hold himself to the LETTER of the law of the Wilderness acyt of 1964, as he expected all of us (with ALL laws) to do while he was Sheriff. Are cops immune to the law?? Seems to think he is.
Well this is just wonderful. One of our newly elected representatives, Congressman Dave Reichert (WA-8), falls off on the wrong side of the fence and decides to cosponsor HR851; The Wild Sky Wilderness Act of 2005. Below is a portion of the Washington Wilderness Coalition report on this issue. I confirmed their statement below with a quick check on the status of this bill, and indeed Rep. Reichert signed onto this bill on July 28th.
You would think that as a former sheriff in King County, Washington, that Rep. Reichert would do his best to attempt to continue to uphold the laws while in Washington D.C. Unfortunately that does not appear to be the case. There are so many areas within this wilderness proposal that do not even come close to the true definition of wilderness, as defined in the Wilderness Act of 1964, that apparently Rep. Reichert no longer feels the need to follow the laws that have been enacted by previous members of Congress.
I for one will not forget this issue when it is time for me to vote next November. And I do live in Rep. Reichert’s district part time. I also plan to let Rep. Reichert know how I feel about his poor choice of options by sending him an email regarding his support of this bill. I hope that those of you that live within his district will do the same. Go to Rep. Reichert's web site and let him know how you feel, but I suggest that you keep your comments civil. Being firm is fine, but it won't help our cause to send him rude emails, it may just enforce his decision; http://www.house.gov/reichert/IMA/issue_subscribe.htm
Hopefully the two remaining republican representatives from eastern Washington - Cathy McMorris and Doc Hastings - will not fall for the same tricks and misrepresentations offered by the extreme green individuals like those in the Wild Washington Campaign.
It appears as in previous years we will need to rely on out of state help to stop this bad legislation. We will need Rep. Richard Pombo (R–CA), Chairman of the House Committee on Resources, to once again put a stop to this bill. As I previously informed you, there will be a BBQ next Thursday August 18th at 11:30 AM with Rep. Pombo in attendance. I plan to be there. If you would also like to join me in helping to convince Mr. Pombo to not allow this bill out of his committee, just reply to this email and I will send you the directions to the BBQ. I hope to see some of you there.
Take care,
Dave

WASHINGTON WILDERNESS REPORT
Issue #21 (August 9, 2005)
2. WILD SKY: Rep. Reichert Cosponsors Wilderness Proposal
Republican Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA08), who represents the 8th Congressional district, has cosponsored the Wild Sky Wilderness bill. His support adds to the local bipartisan support for the Wild Sky proposal. WWC and the Campaign for America’s Wilderness have been coordinating Washington conservation organizations to encourage their members to e-mail and write Congressman Reichert and ask him to cosponsor the Wild Sky proposal.
