Warrior, the next time that happens, hit the guy... say it is self defense. In my book, that sounded like assult with intent to do bodily harm with a deadly weapon.

Believe me, i've thought about just sitting there and revving my engine waiting for him to come out but I just don't want to get involved with the cops and start some hick war.
I ran into the guy at Cumberland Farms and he's just an a$$hole. He thinks its his property but I know for a fact that the land is owned by the power company. Besides, I only ride through there twice when I'm riding and I usually go by slow. He's not going to stop me from riding through there, and if he calls the cops he has got absolutely nothing on me.

Here in Indiana we have a lot of problems with Buckeyes (ohioans) buying land and putting up fences and signs, Some have no intention of ever doing anything with it. Its an investment. When eiger1's neighbor was selling their property and anyone would show up to look at it, he would go outside and fire off a bunch of (illegalgun) rounds to let them know what they were getting into. My neighbor, a buckeye, moved in and immediatly started quoting property laws to me, I gave him my lawyers name. He was very shook up when he learned I was grandfathered in and HE would have to install his fancy fence 10' off the property line, at HIS cost!!!! (10 years now and not a word from him!!)

I can see how it would APPEAR as tho the ATVs are destroting the enviroment. But anyone who hunts will tell you that the wildlife love the trails we make. We stopped riding on a portion of my land 2 years ago and today you would never know there were trails there. Nature is a powerful force and its arrogant to think we can actually destroy it. Sure we can mess it up, but nature is VERY GOOD at adapting.

Power companies usually own right of ways and not the actual land. The same with pipelines.

Respect goes a long way but not with a-holes. Its a 1 way street with them.

Oh man that guy must have issues. Sometimes I test and tune my Banshee on the rode in front of my house.
My neighbers have never complained.

That's correct. Land owners grant easements to utilities to run their supply lines under or above ground and the right to maintain them. A utility easement does not in any way affect a land owner's right to restrict public access to what remains his/her private property. In many cases, especially in highly populated areas, a utility will include restriction of general public access in the agreement for purposes of avoiding liability and vandalism. A land owner is just that, and private property can have restricted access to any degree the owner deems necessary to suit his/her purposes.

In my state any trespasser on property posted as private, no access, is liable for damages to terrain, flora and fauna. And the sheriffs, elected officials, are harsh on trespassers as they represent a blatant disrespect for their bosses, the voters. While those of you who are not landowners may have problems understanding why someone doesn't want you on their land, think of it as someone 'playing' in your home without permission.

Oh f--k that! If some @ss hole threw a rake at me while I was riding by I would stop and break both of his hands and cram that rake right up his @SS. He could have killed you.

community.

leroy i feel for you man you are living your life where you have for many years and do your thing and life is wonderful and someone comes onto your domain well basically an outsider and tries to get you to stop doing something you have done hundreds of times before with 0 problems. i hope this all turns out good for you and things can be resolved peacefully.

atv riding is a hobby just like huning, fishing, biking etc. I do not hunt, never have, but I don't care if people hunt.
it sucks that this guy is so closed minded, if he doesn't like atv's no one should? just imagine if someone tried to
stop him from doing his bobby.
