From my perspective the quad group does'nt really want them to completely step aside, they just want them to stop acting so arrogant in defending something that is theirs in the first place. If the bike guys can just start working with the quad guys more, situations like this would become avoidable.

Why should any dirt bike rider work with a group that wants 100% of the trails to be multi use/very wide for 2 wheels?

Why should any quad rider wanna work with a group that believes its their right to have their own exclusive trails? Atleast on quad trails, bikes can ride on them too.

AsI said Before, it comes with a mutual respect. I have had many ATV'rs help with the creation of single track. Haul logs to the trail head, etc.. Most I have been around dont see single track as a "privledge" for cyclist, they see it for what it is, preferred terrain for that individual off road mount. Although I ride ATVS also, I dont enjoy routing through the mud up to my buttocks, yet some areas of the trail are like that (and actually get created just for that purpose). Now A motorcycle wouldnt be much fun in that environment, but I sure do like stopping and watching them have fun! The Point Is, I Pay and assist them to play in the Mud, the Pay and assist me to create a bit of single track. The H/M system in WV is A great example of this, with a majority of the trails being Multiuse trails, but also a small percentage being single track. As far as I know, there has never been an issue in this massive trail sytem.

Also, I paid my dues in the military by doing roadside cleanups for our base community service days and guess what.... I don't own that road. You people can volunteer all you want but in the end that's all you are, volunteers.

Is there not a part of you that is proud of the services you provided? And that same part would like to see the work you provided, preserved?
All bickering aside, I thank you for your service to our country. And that is a very sincere thanks.

Explain to me how thats arrogant, especially considering the bike guys want to have their own trail system when they are the minority.

I also support a multi-use trail system. I dont really care about how many cyclists want a tighter trail to excercise their skill levels on their cycles. We have RACE TRACKS for this. These trails were NOT meant to be mini race tracks for ANYONE here in Michigan.
