I got this email today, You dont need to be a local to comment, you can bet the anti access types will respond from all over, We need positive responses, from anyone who thinks they may use the trail system in the future, or anyone who is concerned about opening new riding areas.

DNR seeks comment on proposed multiple-use recreation trail
(2006-05-23)

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is
seeking public comments on 19.8 miles of proposed
all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trails located in Polk County in
northwestern Minnesota. This grant-in-aid (GIA) proposal
would connect to and extend the existing 32-mile, multi-use
Agassiz Recreation Trail. The Agassiz Recreational Trail
system traverses Clay, Norman and Polk counties. With the
ATV designation, the proposed GIA trail would be open to
ATVs, mountain bicycles, horseback riding, hiking and
snowmobile riding.

Polk County is sponsoring the Fertile to Crookston Railbed
GIA Trail on behalf of the Sandhill Snowcruisers Club,
which will maintain it for public ATV, snowmobile and other
uses. The Sandhill Snowcruisers currently maintain this
trail for snowmobile use.

Copies of the project proposal are available for review at
the Polk County Auditor's office in Crookston; the DNR
Trails and Waterways office, 246 - 125th Ave. NE, Thief
River Falls; and at the DNR library, 500 Lafayette Road,
St. Paul. Project documents are also available for download
at www.dnr.state.mn.us.

Written comments will be accepted until 4 p.m. on June 23.
Comments should be directed to Mary Broten, DNR Trails &
Waterways, 246 - 125th Ave. NE, Thief River Falls, MN
56701. Letters may also be faxed to (218) 681-0948 or
e-mailed to mary.broten@dnr.state.mn.us.
Thank you for your help and support.
