Default Illegal quad in WI

Excellent summary ATVrider. Before buying my rhino in 2004 I looked into my home state's regulations and contacted a few atv clubs. It was clear to me that if I expected to ride in Wisconsin, I could only ride on forest roads or private property. All the atv clubs I contacted said no to a side-by side. Perhaps a few clubs may change their opinions on s/s, especially if a few key members buy s/s. With all the models clearly s/s are here to stay. The way I see it the Razor will not be allowed by Wisconsin because it also does not meet the seating definition.....a seat designed to be straddled by the operator . It will be interesting for a new Razor owner to register their s/s if possible.... only not be allowed on state trails. This reminds me of the early 70's when we used to ride our enduro's on trails also used by snowmobiles, usually when the snow was abscent. is it possible we are too regulated? Snowmobiles are great, is everyone aware of what a fully studded track on a high hp machine can do to almost anything? I propose 50" width for snowmobile trails or is that silly? Possibly the state will be influenced by registration fees again. love WI. Have fun! Rhinofrank
