OH things are gonna change but not for us an not in a good way.I think this country is not to far from being a dictatorship.NO 1 is gonna stick together to do anything an all the letter writing an protesting wont do jack.They tried to do that to my aunt in the adirondacks all the way back in 1992 its a UN initiative,its to take land an make it a big preserve. Those people were intelligent an said w a BIG NO we will not sell or let you take our houses and land and it was knocked down.
People who are stupid enough to give up there land will never be able to use it or get it back an to me this is a way to allow for more control which is ultimately gonna lead to communism or faschism.Can You say Russia...How sad this country has gotten to this sad state of affairs

There are those that refused to give up 45 years ago in SE Asia, DEEDAWG and others have refused to give up since then, there will be those in the future that will say "hell no". Win or loose, reguardless of how the nation or its populace end up, there are those that will never say quit or give up. Because of DEEDAWG and those that came before him the choice of sides is up to each individual. Either fight or cower, its a choice all have that others paid the price for. we need to do something to preserve our rights before they are gone. with our govt, i dont know what more we can do but write, protest, and elect those that hold the same outdoor truths as we do. we just want equal rights- not to have them taken away. ive been riding since i was 5 and not about to stop! seems to me that 2 (but there are more) glaring things are causing this:

1. idiots on ATVs need to stop; EVERY time this happens, its gets filmed and winds up on TV and 'ATVs are BAD' news programs pop up every where. Remember Ozzys accident a couple years ago? it was on Diane Sawyers show and total mis represenation and not factual. I wrote to her and told her it was inaccurate bullcrap and not what i expect from a top journalist. I told her it should have never aired until she had her facts straight. they sited icaccurate weights, speeds and skyrocketing injuries... well what they did not say is that fatalities are not even close to motorcycles (nothing against motorcycles i like them and want one but this is comparison here) or cars or even choking. as tragic as all death is, it's unfair to single out atvs as the devil wehn most accidents can be prevented.

2. why is land dissapearing? IDIOTS! loudness is the #1 reason. 2nd is trashing up places and the next is rding like a vigilante on someone elses property and being loud and destroying property.

i think the OEMS need to get involved buy up some land and establish a bunch of nice orv parks and help preserve riding; it is in their best interest even if they buy it and donate it or management of it to ORV clubs with restrictions and some type of accountability. other wise no land + no bikes = no profit and we all lose. but if they keep the cycle going of having land, making bikes, we buy them and ride them, going then everyone wins. we get bikes, a place to ride and they make money. yes they have to invest in the parks but its a small thing considering what is at stake. we need a paradyn shift in approach here to accomplish this and they need to be in on it.

as far as idiots im all for patrols that can ENFORCE the revocation of even their automobile drivers license if they act stupid on an ATV. complian if you want,i dont care. some type of ATV licesnsing has to be done to weed out the pile here. in some if not all states you need a motocycle endorsement and HAVE to go thru training to ride them so why not on ATVs? Move ATVs to the DOT and out from under that same agency that regulates can openers and baby dolls.

and if our national atv association is not going to stand up to this risiculousness of losing land, and inaccurate, inflated reporting associated with atvs then we need to take some advice from our very own early govt papers that says if the govt no longer serves the people then it is to be abolished and a new one formed. form a new more powerful national atv club that can get things done.

I agree 20 characters idiots an irresponsible people who shouldnt be on quad an bikes have wrecked an ruined it.I have a Blackwater 500 dvd an it showed the mud flees an Im like good god no wonder we lost that.They were just a bunch of damn drunken party animals an even in the film davey combs said they didnt even know a race was going on.Alcohol and Drugs ruin alot of sports an Im not talkin bout the players Im talkin bout the participants.Just look at the ban on beer at Jets games cause a bunch of drunken bums were heckling women to take off there shirts so it screwed it for every decent man to treat his dad or son on a special occassion maybe there b-day.I dont have my pops to do anything with anymore but imagine if I wanted to treat him to a game an beer on his 70th b day.Soory sir ya cant have it... They have really gone an screwed it all up tho by giving these qtvs out like they were hot wheels an not make people get a license and test before they could even ride 1.Look at cell phones an cars an electronics in cars people cant even figure out an idiot light but they can watch tv an talk on a cell at the same time....
I really dont think a small group can beat a majority in power,not to give up or in but the odds arent even for us.the media wields big power too. Diane sawyer say atvs are the devils toys an we are outlaws an most people follow that an not even find out for themselves.a friend told me last week dont underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.....hmmmm

 

I thought i would Edit my previous reply to this thread to make room for someone else to have some space and be able to open up the page's faster , i have some new's for the TN Wildlife Reserve "Prentess Cooper" in Chatanooga TN ; my brother called me at about 8:30 PM with new's of when this Recreation Area will reopen for 2008 i'll post the site saturday with more concrete new's and the web site then on the where to ride thread of the forums !.........

 

yes in general people (in masses) are stupid. a person is smart. people panic. a person reasons. usually. im not one for bs inspiring feel good speaches but the song that nickelback has about in 'if everyone cared' and video with it is a good one for the sport. at the end of the song it states a quote from some one that started a group to stop something ( iguess i didnt 'care' enough to see what it was!) and by the time they were done it ammasseed into thusands:

"Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

even though the tide is against us we need to try. im kinda hardheaded too, but i love riding and dont think its right for them to try to take our land and say we cant ride on it or public land. we pay tax, we pay trail funds, etc. and the majority of us ride correctly. we pay their salaries. if they want diversity include everyone, even us atvers. but are they really wanting diversity? maybe they want to make us socialistic drones... im not into that either. i dont think many of us on here are.

 

This makes absolutely no sense.

 

Wow...as soon as I posted that, I went out to ride on the land next to my house and the ranger dude came up to me and told me I couldn't anymore. And he blabbed on about something that I didn't listen to. But that totally blows!

 

And so it continues.....We must all be good little sheep and stay in our little boxes and for heavens sake, do not make a track or go out into the land. Through the use of the Federal Register and biased lock up type management the world that belongs to the public is being restricted to no use and no access. Government is beginning the final push to control totally. Control the land, control the people...Tass

 

so either complain about it or do something about it.
