i'm with you DODGE57HEMI, on our local public lands, i spend quite a bit of time picking up after others. but it doesn't bother me to approach them and gripe at them for a while. i especially hate the beer bottles-now i don't mind if someone likes to drink, BUT DON'T LEAVE IT WHERE I CAN TRASH MY TIRES!!!! the NPS is looking at changing the atv programs and held meetings. i voiced my opinions. like stiffer fines/penalties for non-compliance. some people have the mentality of "ME ME ME ME". what's in it for me? and "you want me to do what?" i'm sick of their attitude. i've taught my kids to take more trash home than what we made when out riding. stewardship goes a long ways. what ever happened to go Ol' American pride?

Yeah. It really pisses you off. ATVs have become so popular and more rules come down to limit use based on fools like this. They were probably drunk when they left......

Not sure about that Splat.....The people on this site are generally the people who care most. Also unclear how many folks on this site regularly visit this "Environmental" section....but I don't any visitation stats, just guessing. I have a feeling others certainly agree, but just don't post the fact.

EDIT: Rated R.

I'm thinking this sign would be pretty effective in your area. Maybe we can get a group discount if we order 1000.

I love that sign! Being in Jersey we just get the extreme of everything. New York City folks come here for the "shore" and for the "country." If the locals don't keep things up it just gets ugly fast. These people throw bags of fast food garbage out their car windows. I am NOT kidding, you will see it. Locals are pretty tolerant because lots of folks make good money on them. All that said, as much as I love the sign, if I put them up around here, I don't think people would notice. They would think they were real and find no humor in it at all. Just wouldn't get it. Sorry for the ranting. They go home after Labor Day.

BUT GOOD FOR YOU for picking it up we always try to pick up the stuff people leave when we go. Especially because my dad likes the recycle money form the beer bottles.

I'll chime in to say that while I pick up trash wherever I go, if I find it, the most important thing I have done is to teach my kids to do the same. I recently noticed my daughter glaring at a friend as they passed a stray bottle and they suddenly shouted, "I know the drill, sergeant!" and picked it up. I realized my kids are teaching their peers to do the same and my mission was accomplished.

I also don't hesitate to let someone have it, if I bust them trashing a place.

And yeah, the people on here strike me as the picking up type, not the littering type.

Where I live some douche dumped a **** load of roofing shingles out in a trail that was big enough for a truck one night ... welp he didnt realize that he had a cable bill in amongst all this wonderfull garbage. He got fined and he had to come out and pick all the shingles up while we watched it was SWEET!!!

I hear you on the dumped shingles. It common to run across that around here as well. Good for you, busting the guy. I wish I could have seen that.
Sometime when I get deep into the woods I find old cars and junk and wonder how they ever got these things this deep into the woods.

Oh you struck a never with me, a bare red exposed nerve. I despise the filthy worthless people who can carry it in and can't carry it out. (insert red mad hateful face)

Check this link to my friends blog and you can see a few of my rants.

My good friend wrote the first one "At a loss for understanding!" from a ride that we took a few weeks ago. The second one is a few topics down and is titled "Call Someplace Paradise and Kiss it Goodbye. Eagles, The Last Resort.".

ATV Television's Blog

We went for a ride yesterday and I think we're going to head back up there with an ATV trailer in tow, it's that bad and I really think the majority of what we saw yesterday is left behind by locals.

I posted this one on Facebook:

The only thing worse than riding for miles along a pristine mountain trail only to find it marked closed for no good reason is to ride for miles along a pristine trail only to find it marked by those most likely providing the reason for closing trails in the first place. They took a dump here in the middle of the trail and left their asswipe papers behind and I’m sure they did this to show their discontent for the closure of this trail. I wonder how they found their way home after leaving their brains in the middle of the trail; yes these people have **** for brains. They are the inbreed POS that we don’t want and/or need here.

And I did this short video while on another ride:

Video - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

I hate the inbreeds that leave their trash behind and want to thank everyone here who takes it upon themselves to pick it up and carry it out for them.

Thank You

Kenny
