NH Immediate Action Required on Senate Bill 366
Yesterday, May 19, 2012, Senate Bill 366 went to Committee of Conference and did not reach an agreement. The one item that could not be agreed upon was the amendment introduced by Senator Gallos. Senator Gallos was the only member in favor of his amendment while four house members and two senators (as well as the entire OHRV community) were opposed to it. NHOHVA would rather see this bill die than to be passed with Senator Gallos's amendment, while Senator Gallos would rather see the bill die than to be passed without it. There is no concurrence, and as long as an agreement cannot be made this bill will die UNLESS WE ALL ACT NOW!
The only way this bill can survive is if the Senate President Peter Bragdon exercises his right to pull Senator Gallos from the committee and replace him with a supporter of the original bill.
Here is what you will need to do:
1) Call Senator Peter Bragdon today at: 603-271-2111
or: 603-271-8742
2) Ask him to replace Senator Gallos on the SB366 Committee with a supporter of the House version of the bill
3) Tell him that you support the House Version of Senate Bill 366!
Senator Peter Bragdon may also be reached via email: senatorbragdon@peterbragdon.com
or: peter.bragdon@leg.state.nh.us
The original house version of this bill was supported by the entire OHRV community and everyone involved.
This version of the bill can still go through if everyone speaks up today!
There is still one hope left for SB366 and it will require action from the entire OHRV community TODAY!

welcome to the forum dirtbikeologist.
I'm a little confused as to what this bill is
Mind explaining in a nutshell?
Couldn't help but notice your screen name "dirtbike" and that you ride an rm125...
I had a nice rm250 that I totaled at about 40 mph into a bunch of rocks about 9 years ago- broke my wrist, collar bone and a few ribs-
Are you affiiliated with NETRA?

Thanks, Beergut! In New Hampshire, Senate Bill 366 was intoduced in order to classify tracked ATV's under NH law and allow a registered ATV to replace the wheels with tracks, cleats or skids (or a combination) and continue to ride snowmobile trails throughout the winter. My organization has been working for months trying to get this legislation through and the bill is currently slated to die. If this happens, then ATV riders who want to ride all year round will have to pay double registration fees - one for an ATV and one for a snowmobile. You can find out more by reading our Newsletter here: http://www.nhohva.com/newsletter.html
Nice RM! I am a NETRA member, but I also ride quads and snowmobiles, too - I enjoy anything OHRV related...

thanks for clearifing that
seems like a noble cause that clearly benefits the atv community.
The reason why I asked if you were affiliated with NETRA was because NETRA has been screwing the atv community for a while now and I have experienced this on a personal level.
A while back I started a charity to raise money to help repair a brand new youth soccer field that was destroyed by a bunch of kids on quads- ( http://forums.atvconnection.com/wher...arlton-ma.html ) then when I contacted NETRA to organize an atv charity ride and ask for help they basically gave me the middle finger and didn't give me the time of day. I figured it would've been great to have NETRA in my corner since I have seen many NETRA rides here where I live in douglas, ma and in the surrounding towns and the local officials were familiar with them.
as you can see- I'm no longer fond of NETRA.

Lack of response is one of the biggest complaints I hear about NETRA (and many other volunteer-run non-profits) - don't take it personal I have heard they do the same thing to their strong supporters. I feel whenever you have a lack of "customer service", then you lose "business". That is how the business end of a free market society should work and the most successful non-profits are run like a business. On the other hand, not to make excuses for them, but NETRA is run by a small handful of volunteers who are already overly taxed with work keeping the organization running. Bottom line is they need more volunteers.
It was only a few short years ago when NETRA would run events that included dirt bikes, quads and snowmobiles all year round with all different clubs getting involved. It would be great to see that again.
My organization, NHOHVA, works to protect the legal interests of all wheeled OHRV users regardless of the type of machine. When they take the trails away from us they will take them away from all of us regardless of how many wheels you have or what type of engine, frame brakes, etc. Our sport has real opposition that really wants to close down the trails for all motorized vehicles and they don't care what clubs or affiliations we are fond of or not. They don't see a difference - they lump us all in the same category - the evil category. They would like to see us fighting amongst ourselves - we certainly should never give them that satisfaction...
