However, gay marriage is not even close to that level, and keeping it banned solely because a religion dictates that it is wrong is not something that should be happening in this day and age. It isn't hurting anyone, and same-sex relationships are not illegal unlike that of a pedophile or dog-molester. If you don't believe that is right, nobody is forcing you to live that way, and you can continue to practice your religion, just agree to disagree. What effect would it actually have on YOU specifically?
In Massachusetts, homosexual marriage has led to all sorts of crazy bills being introduced. Their reasoning is, "If two men or two women can marry, why can't I.....?" One of the bills being considered seriously is nicknamed the "bathroom bill" which would allow anyone who considers him or herself transgendered to use whatever bathroom they identify with. This could seriously jeopardize the safety of children and women if men can use the ladies room and be in there with girls and women.

I've seen my cousin leave her husband and children for a female "lover". They now have a baby. Gee, how did that happen? One must have grown male organs and chemistry.... Obviously, it's not natural.

I haven't based my arguments solely on religion. Sociologically, without artificial conception and adoption, it could have devastating effects on our populations. And, most of all, it's trying to make the physical aspects of these relationships normal. Why, if it's normal for two men to marry, isn't it normal for a man and boy to marry? Same thing with and adult woman and a boy or girl. If homosexual marriage is normal and equatable with heterosexual marriage why aren't these other types of marriages allowable too? The only normal marriage society-wise, physically, and Biblically, is a man and a woman. Jesus said, "For this reason a man will leave his family and become one with a woman." It was and should remain solely a contract between a man and a woman. To call marriage anything else than what it has always been is to bastardize the definition to meet whatever we decide it to.

You have your view and I have mine. We probably will never agree. I've been both a person who wasn't a Christian a good part of my life and has now been a Christian a good part of my life. If I'm wrong. I might waste 50 years before I die and the worms have my body for dinner. If I'm right I've tried to warn people to turn from wrong and turn to God. For me, I'd rather take the chance and try to live right with His help until my body dies, than to take the chance at an eternity in hell. Just my own .02 worth.

Taking it one thing at a time, those things you mentioned most people wouldn't want to be legal such as men using women's bathrooms. There's no way to really regulate that and keep women and children safe from those that would take advantage of that, so I agree that that shouldn't become legal. As to other marriages becoming legal there's a lot of things like that that people would be even more opposed to, most of which I also agree with.
I can see where you're coming from with that devaluing marriage since it is so traditional for only heterosexuals to marry, but if two consenting adults are in a relationship, and they are happy together marriage would feel like a logical step for them. I understand the thoughts that gay relationships aren't "normal" and it's not the type of life i would ever lead either, but if that is right for someone else, I might not approve either but I would leave them be. I can see where your logic comes from, I understand that and I respect your opinion, so I'm sorry if I come across as confrontational because I have a different opinion, I don't mean to offend.

the homosexuals cry for freedom of expression and yet when others use their freedom of expression, like Chick Filet did, the homo's try to shut them down.
As for the person a few replies back said if he had a 100 bucks for everytime he saw two dogs of the same sex going at it, he would be rich. Thats a great point you saw 2 ANIMALS of the same sex ANIMALS IS THE POINT!
Why do I have to accept homosexuality? Next I will have to accept islam too.
Keep your guns close by, the end is coming!

The fact of the matter is most people are against homosexual marriage. That's why it's often legalized through the courts. They know they won't win if they put it up to a vote. I see nowhere in either the Mass. State Constitution or the Federal Constitution of the United States that even hints at sexual preference being a right protected under the Constitution. I'm not offended by your responses. I know people will differ.

WRONG. It happens everyday all over the world. Grown men in their 40s, 50s, and 60s marry girls as young a five. And there are tons of people already having sex with animals - marrige would be a small step.

And yes; this is supported by the gays and lezzies. Why do you think they went bat-**** crazy over a single comment made by the owner of Chic-Fil-A but not a peep about a certain college scandal?

It's unfortunate for those who are wanting to get married, but it is a fact that in a vote they would probably not win since there are so many who oppose it. Yes, I'm sure it's not mentioned in the constitution either, it probably wasn't ever brought up or thought about at the time those were made.

At the time of the writing of the Mass. State Constitution and the federal Constitution there were anti-Sodomy laws on the books.

Nobama just canceled the anti-sodomy clause for the military so I guess it's OK for them to marry their dog now....

Thomas Jefferson especially hated religion, and the majority of the founding fathers believed it to be dangerous. We have no state religion. We certainly were not founded on religious principles.

There are a number of species of Animals other than humans who display homosexual behavior. I'd say it's as natural as anything.
