Default Cleaning 4 wheeler.

Haven't cleaned my 4 wheeler yet so I think it's about time. I skimmed over the manual when I first got it and I'll break it out later today to refresh my memory. Just curious if anyone has any tips on cleaning thiers?
Any info is appreciated.

ALso I have seen ATV stands for working on them (or cleaning). What kind do you all use, if any?
I have a pretty sturdy plastic crate but I haven't tested it out to see if it will hold the atv. Actually I'm not even sure if I can lift it.

BTW this is a 2003 yamaha warrior.

Just soap and water, like a car, keep water out of the exhaust...and then follow up with some Formula2001 or something to make it shine and help it come clean the next time.

More info

ty rook.

How about the chain/sproket? I htink the manual said my chain has O rings and should be removed. How do you take it off? What do you clean the chain with? I already bought some ChainLube.

Just scrub the chain with a medium stiff NYLON brush and soapy water....Don't use a wire brush, no need to take the chain off unless it's so mucked up that a soaking is all that'll get it clean....then blow it dry or some use WD40 and then warm the chain by riding for 10 minutes or so and the lube it up.

dont put any wd40 on the chain, it will eat the orings and basically ruin your chain

I've heard differing opinions on the WD40, I don't use it because I don't know....I just clean the chain and use some ChainWax

I have a rubber cork with a screw in it that I put in my exhaust it works a lot better then a bag because you can wash what the bag would be covering. Just rember to take it out before you start it!
