Default State Registration numbers

For those of you who have your ATV registered with the state, where do you put your numbers? I have just registered my quad with the state of Indiana and received my seven digit registration number. They say to use 3 inch numbers and to place on each side of the quad. I really do not want to place seven, three inch numbers on the side plastic of my quad. Has anyone come up with a better way of doing this---at least one that does not require the numbers to be permanently stuck to the side of your NEW quad? Thanks for any input.

I'm not sure you'd want any kind of 'bracket' between you and the handlebars.................how about a small back rack for the scrambler with the numbers affixed to a plate that doubles as a side rail or two brackets like 'wings' off the back?

I appreciate your opinion on 'scarring' your plastic.............yet we let the snowmobilers up here in Michigan get rid of their large numbers for the same reason (asthetics) several years ago. The state then allowed the atv registration system (sticker w/ no number) to be purchased randomly with no cross-reference record.

What do we have now?

Any dummy who can wear an unrecognizable full-face helmet and work a thumb throttle......... with the ability to travel just about anywhere they want without fear of identification.

This LARGE ('dayglo' colors would be even better) LICENSE PLATE issue is one I've brought up more times than I can count and am certainly glad to see that Indiana has had the 'brains' to make sure this segment of the off-road population is easily identifiable.

Gee, let's 'think' for a moment here...............how many atv riders would continue to keep ruining the sport for the rest of us if 'one'............they were worried about being identified or 'two'.........faced fines and/or siezures for not running a sticker?

The failure of our riding community to get behind this issue in a BIG way.................has led me to believe that our orv group has got to be among the most hypocritical on our planet (especially when considering our potential for 'damage' when compared with other machines).

Just another subject I've found that nobody wants to talk about and it will DEFINITELY come back to bite us in the butt if not adressed soon.

are you required to show this registration info? I don't think you are in La.. I just stuck mine underneath somewhere, so it can get good and covered in mud
