how much would a shift kit for an 1989 camaro rs with a 305 cost. i am asking because I don't know where to look for one. thanks.

 

That should have the TH-700-R4 tranny in it. I would recommend the Transgo kit. I have one in my C-6 ford. It was around $80, but expect to pay $125-$140 for a kit for an OD tranny.

With the Transgo kit you can install it for auto shifting or full manual. Full manual means you MUST start in 1st then shift it manually. If you put it in OD, you are in 4th gear. Pulling up to a stop sign means you must downshift to first before taking off. Kind of neat but it can be a pain in the *** unless you are only racing.

do you think that if i put one in would it bark the tires when it auto shifts into 2nd. because my cousin has a dodge d-100 with a 318 and it will bark 'em when it shifts into 2nd.
