i was wondering if you have to rebuild the engine on 2 strokes every year. i have heard that you did from a couple places and people. if you do is it a pain and what do you have to do.

We have a Polaris 400L sport, have yet to do anything to the motor. Now, if you don't take care of it, your bound to have problems.JMO

depends on how built up it is. a polaris 2-stroke is not nearly as built up as a CR or YZ or whatever 125. the more performance you add to anything the less reliability. Two strokes dont need to be built every season but do need to be built periodically depending on how high performace they are because things dont last as long when they are "higher performance"

My 1977 kd100 still has the original untouched top end. My 1982 atc 250r was bored for the 1st time back in 1994.

It's all in the proper care and maintenance. No vacuum leaks, No dirt and good oil.

i had a 1974 motoski skidoo and i blew it up last year...i think i would of got a few more years with it if i had of known my fan belt broke, after the belt broke i seized my piston so badly i had to press the cylinder off!it was quite a mess...but other than that it ran for 30 years with out a rebuild lol!
