manual or auto help
#3
zap, I am assuming you are referring to the semi-manual(questionable terminology) where you have to shift gear without a clutch. I rode a King Quad for along time and it was great, I liked the fact I could keep it in first and second and keep the low end torque for crawling thru and over stuff. Now I have a auto and I see know differnce other then the fact my left foot gets bored. I found myself trying to shift it the first couple times out. With an auto I do not have to worry about what gear I am before I start to climb hills or the same thing when going down and wanting to use the gears to act as a brake. I was hesitant at first of the Auto but they are great and it seems this may be the future of utilty quads. Hopes this helps. I too ride boggy mud areas and would not buy another manual again, I got lazy in 6 months. AlaskaBoy.

Welcome to the forums. I would say go with the auto. Getting stuck would be bad, getting hurt would be worse. You can always sell it later and buy a manual. Sell it to a friend, and you'll have a riding partner. If you're married, give it to your wife and get her involved too.
