air compressor hose leak???
#1
Ok guys, I accidently put a flood light next to the air hose for my compressor, and needless to say, it melted a small hole in the hose. Is there any way to repair the hole, or am I SOL???

Make a "soft patch". Take a piece of soft rubber and place over hole. Take twine and make a knot right over the hole ensuring you will have a lot of excess twine left over. Take one end of the twine and tightly wrap it around the hose and rubber piece from center of knot to the end of the patch and tie off, do the same with the other end going in opposite direction.
Or...
A soft piece of rubber and a couple of hose clamps.

I just went and bought 5 hoses (the cheap $9 for a 50 footer at home depot)
I puncture about one a month(remodel carpentry),,,,,and dont really have time to mess with them.
I believe there is a kit you can buy that allows you to put your own ends on (crimper)(cut the hose and make two short hoses)

You can put a barbed sleeve in the hoses and use hose clamps to hold it in. This will work but the clamps will get caught on stuff if you drag the hose around much.
I'd replace the hose myself. The black and red rubber ones suck. The sun damages them and they crack. Buy the ones that are more like a plastic stuff. Usually these are blue, orange or yellow.
