Fuel prices gone wild !!

$2.19 a gallon in So. Oregon.
Total scam, though. Crude prices are NOT twice what they were when gas was $1.20 gallon. When oil was $24-$28/barrel, gas was just fine, I'm thinking gas prices shouldn't be any more than $1.70/gallon at the most! My uncle in Anchorage owned a gas station for a few years until he sold it last year and he said gas prices are a total fix. He always had the cheapest prices in town because he didn't go along with the 'let's raise prices a couple cents and see if people will still pay' routine. hmmm... maybe that's why he got out of the biz...
Also, on Foxnews they were saying that crude prices account for only 40% of the price of gasoline. The rest is refining and distribution. SO, even if crude prices DOUBLED, that'd only be a 40% increase in the price. NOT what's happening.
Guess we have to take with good with the bad with our free market economy.

2.72 per gallon here based on 3.78l/gal. and an exch. rate of 1.34. May be out of date .. haven't bothered to check. Paying 96.4 for reg. self serve now .. blech.
Is it a coincedence that they upped the price just before the May long weekend I wonder ??
