Fuel prices gone wild !!

We are now paying the equivalent of $2.75 US per gallon of self serve regular gas here, with diesel prices not far behind. How does this compare to prices elsewhere in North America?

just paid 2.09 a gallon for 87 octane regular yesterday. Super was about 2.29 a gallon...... Wisconsin is like the second or third highest taxed gas in the USA.
My wife is an accountant for a local small town oil company. Her boss buys and sells gas on the stock market for them. She said he lost a million bucks overnight yesterday due to a gamble, and then the cost went up and he had no fuel to sell at a contract cost, and had to buy it higher to sell it at the lower contract cost? Something like that.
She said dont expet prices to come town till maybe september, if at all. The prices usually go up in the summer du to basically more people driving on vacations, to and from the cabin every weekend....... heading to the beach, boating eats a lot of gas, and yes, i drive an extra 2 hours every weekend to go burn a few gallons in my atv.
crap like that will keep the price rissing. If we keep buying it, they will try to profit more and prices will go up.
Also we are pulling from our countrys reserve fuel supply, wich makes the oil companies very nervous, as they buy and sell less from the ground when we use the reserves.
I dont understand it all to well. Just repeating what my wife said. (if i remember it corectly.)
