Default seriouse question about car stero

...just an off the wall type of thing...I was thinking about taking a pair of headphones....cutting the actaul head phones off...then splicing into each of the speaker wires and attaching the old headphone wires to the speakers....like I said...was just a quick thought and it probably wouldnt work

Default seriouse question about car stereo

It was so simple I cant believe I didnt think of it sooner....... what you want and need is an FM modulator.....

Incase you have no idea what this is.... It is a device that you will plug your audio output into and it will transmit it 1 of 2 ways you can get a wireless one that will transmit it on a dedicated frequency that you tune your radio too... or hardwired where you will unplug your car antenna and plug it into this device and then plug its antenna back into your car radio and then tune your radio to a dedicated frequency....

You ask how much they range in price from 20 bones to prolly around 100.....

problem solved and very cheaply too.

And i was a Car Audio installer for 9 years . There really is not a cheap and easy way to do this. The R.F. way would be your cheapest and easiest way. But by no means the best. I never did install a laptop interface into a car , but i bet if you called around you could find a shop that has. Most systems with laptops have more than a head and a few speakers. I see what you want and really wouldnt go to very much trouble to just listen to your downloaded mp3's . I would like to see what you come up with though.

Actually, your own ideal would work, just in a different way. A laptop doesn't need a separate head unit for power. Lop off an old set of computer speakers and tap into your front or rear speaker wires. If you use male/female wire terminals, it'll be completely removable, too. Just be careful if you try to tap into the front AND rear speakers. I'm not sure if laptops have any kind of impedance issues, because even most laptop surround systems run off of a single jack from the computer.
