Its not that yamaha has the most problems. They sell more quads than the others. Hince they have more bikes out there, that means more owners asking more questions. These forums arent just about problems. Some ask how they can make theres faster etc.

I worked with a school the purchased almost exclusively Gateways. I mean 900-1000 a year as opposed to 100-300 Dells.
Over 5 years the school should have 4500-5000 Gateways in service or phased out to 500-1500 Dells.
Tell me which you think was more common to having service calls.
When comparing service calls to number in service they were about even.
450 downed Gateways vs. 50 downed Dells would give the illusion that Dells were superior but in reality that would be 3% - 10% failure for each.

Well said guys. The honda atvs have traditionally been more reliable than the rest of the pack, and polaris was by far the worst. Since about 2000 though, the gap has been lessening and now most companies are extremely close to each other in terms of reliability. Its better in this day in age to look at each product from each manufacturer individually. For instance, a company could make one bulletproof machine, and one that chronically breaks down. Just do your research on the machine you are interested in, and make your decision from there.
