i do not know what to think or what to do now. i am certainly praying for him and his family, but as much as i want him to come out of his coma, i know it wouldnt help for him to come out, because he can barely respond.
i guess all i can do now his help his family out- seeing as his parents are divorced, and his mom who he lives with has spent all her time with him, instead of at her job.
i am sorry for taking so long to give you an update, it has been about 4 weeks since the accident and i have had alot on my mind and alot to do.

Rem:
Been away from the internet for awhile and was surprised to find this post. Sounds like Talin is not doing well at all, very sorry to hear this. Not a thing any of us can say that will do much good but it is important for you to know, and perhaps tell his folks, that there are many people praying for Talin's quick recovery.
My wife is a nurse who works with people who are severly debilitated and has had patients with problems similar to your friends. These people's families are often devistated by the unfairness of their loss and, since the injured person requires ongoing attention, there is no real closure or finality to the loss. Often this process will go on for many years and you may be facing such a situation in your life. I really pray that this will not be the case but you need to consider the possibility that this will be a long term situation with many small changes both good and bad.
This is going to be a tough time in your life Rem and I wish you well. Please keep us posted.

Thanks.
I went to see him today, it was really depressing, i didnt like to see him hooked up to everything like that, and knowing that he needs to be on 50 different machines to be alive. I cant recognize him much either, he has lost alot of weight, cuz they need to pump food into his stomach.
I cant believe that it has been a month and a week now. People at my school are starting to move on, but i dont think i will be able to forget. Were having a huge airsoft war with him the day before, and i just remember how great of a time we all had and such.
We did start a petition called the T.A.L.I.N petition which stands for : To Address Lawful Inadequacies Now. We havent seen much reaction from the state, though there is a speed reader which flashes red and blue when someone is going over 45.
is there any way i can change the name of the thread? I have completely changed my view of driving and would like to change the name to something more respectable.
I would like to say thanks again, hopefully god has planned this all out for the best somehow.

Hey, its been a while, and all ive got is good news. He has came out of the coma. He can sorta talk, he can say hi, and he can recognize faces. He recognized his best friend Derrick, and they did their secret handshake that they have been doing since gradeschool. He can throw/kick a ball fairly well. He is in alot better condition than what the doctors were thinking, but hes not out of the field yet. There is brain damage, and he will never be the same, but he might get to the point where he can remember most things, and live a productive life. If anyone who remembers this is still interested, ask and i'll try to answer any questions i can.

Thanks for the good news update. May he continue to show the doctors wrong and keep on improving.
I was happy to read about your reconsidering the thread title, written in anger. Good progress is being made all around.
Best wishes for Talin's continued recovery.

Yeah, theyre speculating that he will have some brain damage, but not enough to the point that he wont be self-sufficient some day. Most of the doctors are sayin that its looking good, but they dont want to say he is all better, because they probly dont want people to get their hopes up, yet. I havent seen him in a while, but my friends say that he recognizes some of the people. He wants to leave the hospital, he doesnt like it there, he's tried to escape several times, but i dont think that thats weird, because i would try to too.
and by the way, Remington is my name( Rem for short) and i hate the band: R.E.M.

Accidents happen, and thats why they are called accidents....they arent called "on purposes".
