What has the ATV done for you??

I first was introduced to ATVs only a few years ago. One of my good friends (Kev) got me into them. He'd go out riding almost everyday and said I should try it. I was more into motorcycle cruisers but tried it out anyway and became hooked. When I was much younger I rode a lot of sport bikes so getting in the dirt was always fun. I bought one of my own so I wasn't always using his old one and we ride together a lot. We've met a lot of new friends and I got my little brother into them too. It also helped find this place. I've been thinking about buying a new ATV and was looking around for reviews when my brother suggested surfing the net for boards. I didn't even know these things existed. Shows how computer illiterate I am.

ATV's have brought me and my wife together in a great way. I used to drag race cars, and a lot of times she was at home with the daughter. This happened for years and did cause some hard feelings. Now we both do something we enjoy tremendously and even the daughter can have fun. For us it is being able to do things as a family.

Great family sport.
I have also met a super great group of people to ride and camp with on here. It has been great to ride with such good people who also enjoy the sport and hanging out with friends. I can never say enough good things about the people I have met on here

Bought our first atv when Mrs Shady was pregnant. Got tired of fixing the sand rail all the time.
Now, almost 14 years later, our year revolves around riding. My two boys who've been riding since in the womb now really can tear it up. My wife loves to ride too, so our whole family spends much time together on the quads. We are very close and the atv's are an instrument in that.
We have met tons of very good friends thru this sport. Many from these forums.
I have drag raced and SCCA raced but that's time away from the family, whereas the ATV's are something we all do together so they are in the forefront.

Heres a sort of serious question. What do you think the atv has done in your life? Has it brought you closer to others or to the environment? Do you think it has changed the world in any way? I know its been important in my life. I can't count how many people i've met and new friends i've made. I've been able to see different places in the U.S. by ridin at the different parks and riding areas. I know its brought me closer to my family since my little cousins love watchin my brother and I hittin the moto tracks with our dirtbikes and atv's. They love it and now they are into it. Every weekend we hit the trails somewhere and just ride for hours and enjoy the scenery. I remember the first time I got into atv's. The only thing I had to ride was my dirtbike. I rode it all the time, even when it was muddy. I hated ridin in the mud with the dirtbike so I bought a new 2001 Mojave. I fell in love ridin atv's. Don't have to worry about balancing and it was more comfortable. Granted, I still ride my dirtbike and will never get rid of it cause I can fly higher on the bike. Gotta have some major air!! See, havin an atv does bring family and friends together because I sold my Mojave to my cousins girlfriend to get my current dirtbike!! hahahaha. Makes everyone happier. Thank god for the ATV!!!
