Not only do we use our atv's for fun like ridin trails or gettin major air, some of us use it for other purposes.
I know I've used my atv for other things. Well, I got a 2004 V-Force and I use it to pull trees and limbs to our burn pile! It does the job very well. I also use it to pull someone on a tire. I tie a ski rope to my grab bar and tie the rope to a big tire and pull my cousins around. My friend used to have a 2003 400EX and we used that to pull my younger brother on one of them power wheels Kawasaki Ninja atv things. Thats the way you tear up a powerwheels. We were pulllin my bro all over the place through mud and rampin our hills at our track. Never seen a powerwheels get soo much air!! Soo much fun. I actually pulled the tire around with my atv and my cousins on the tire today! Better when its a little muddy out. I remember we used to have a stripped down Kawasaki X-2 Jet ski hull at our house. My dad brought home a new 300 Bayou 4x4 and we were pullin the hull around the house. I was soo little that I fit inside the engine compartment. It did flip over and got my head drug around for a few feet. So thats why I turned out the way I am. That explains a lot now, hahaha.

the DUMBEST? it has to be when i tried to do a burnout without the front break on my stock raptor. the front lifted and put itself on the grab bar with in 1 millisecond. bent my bar up till i bent the end cap of my mufler. wasnt all that easy on the tires either, and i hurt my backside

After installing my blade, winch, taller tires, and lift kit, I promptly climbed a tank dam behind our farm house. I attempted to turn around on the top of the dam, and of course, having moved the center of gravity up a few inches I felt my Honda start to roll. I jumped off, unfortunately on the downhill side! I hit the ground and immediately assumed the fetal position as my Honda rolled right over the top of me. For the next mili-second, that felt like an hour, all I could think of was what my head was going to look like with a Warn 54" blade sticking through the middle of it. I wondered if my nine year old son would have to feed me with a spoon the rest of my life, what my wife would do to support our family after our insurance benefits expired, and whether I would live through the ordeal at all. The Honda's right side surrounded my head and upper body right where my right leg would have been, above the floor board. Incredibly, the entire ATV missed me, doing a full 720 and coming to rest on its wheels in about a foot of water. I started it, drove it out, and never told my family how close I thought I had come to being a vegetable the rest of my life.

A year or so before that incident, I considered pulling my son through the snow on a tube, sled, or snow board. But that week, there was a story on the local news about a father who had been pulling his son through the snow on a boogie board. They were going about 10-15 mph when the boogie board turned over, the child didn't let go, and his neck was snapped and he died instantly.

ATV owners notoriously dislike government intervention in the form of safety mandates into our chosen hobby, sport, or whatever it is to you. But we make it easy for them to regulate when we discard intelligent action and give ourselves over to stupidity. I ride a lot more conservatively these days. I have fun, but always wear a helmet and don't take chances with safety.

The dumbest thing i ever did was try to get some kid in a tacoma Pickup upstuck offroad. He was out in the middle of nowhere with a few friends, they were over the wheels in mud, stuck. One of them had a honda 300 tied to the front bumper trying to pull it out. Me and my friend hooked up my rappy and his banshee, we all got a nice rolling start and floored it. Ripped the kids front bumper right off, and it almost took our heads off.

I know now not to go up a hill you don't think you can go up! I go with my first instinct now! I've cartwheeled my atv a few times goin half way up a hill. Definately make sure there aren't any roots or other obstacles on the hill too. For some reason V-Forces are heavy!

Doing donuts in the mud and my son crossed in front of me... I was up on three wheels when spinning, and as soon as I let up, the wheel bit, and up I went.. no problem I said.. I can save it.. I can save it... I can save it.. Damn...ouch.. ... Oh crap,. I broke my back... I am paralyzed...and miles away from the truck and cell phone... Sent the kid to fetch the cell phone.. while I spent the next 45 minutes reacquainting my brain with my appendages. Eventually I could sit up and move everything... but I was lucky, I only had broken the leg under the knee. Made it back to the trailer, loaded it up and went home to face the wife... that was even scarier than facing living the rest of my life in a wheel chair.

Since then I have had the knee rebuilt for a torn ACL... and now use a cane... Dumb.. real dumb...

There were two trees that my Rancher would fit between with my stock tires. Two years ago when it snowed, I was headed for the path into the woods where the trees were. I was going too fast and started to skid sideways on the ice. I decided to try to go between the trees, but didn't take into account the brand new 26" wide tires I had on the bike and ended up wedging the two front wheels between the trees. This resulted in me doing a "hand stand." receiving a nice little cut on my right eye lid, and a black eye. Stupid hurts but my buddy got a good laugh after he knew I was okay.
