We will pay for the fuel we use. the more 3rd world nations become developed the higher our fuel prices will go up. Right now, we are the leading consumer of fuel products. With China, being second. In the near future, China will be the leading consumer and will be using more fuel products, then us. So, supply and demand takes over and the prices go up It's a viscous [sp] circle, we have going on.

Once oil hits $50 there are drill bits everywhere turning to the right. There's a lot of oil out there and $80 crude won't sustain because supply will meet the demand. Lots of oil in Russia, South America, and even here although the barkeaters make it hard to get at.
Global warming and cooling has been going on for long before we were here and will be going on long after we're here. Here in Montana it used to be warm swampy rainforest when the dinosaurs were around. Now we got glaciers. Back in the 70's the same Chicken Little scientists were predicting an ice age starting again.

I believe we should use all of everyone else's fuel resources, before we use our own I agree with you Shady on there being a lot of oil out there. Hell, Ca. can use what we are on top of But, the fields around Kern, Fresno and Tulare County are for the most part, not pumping
I remember the talks back in the 70's about another ice age We've come full circle

The thing that amazes me about gas prices out here in ca is that the price of gas has absolutely no effect on commuters driving habits. It doesnt seem to slow any one down at all. We dont seem to care about the cost at all. If we did you would think we might slow down a little and have at least a little effect on the supply/demand process. My mini van commuter special gets 22 mpg at 80mph, 26 at 70mph. I personally slow down to 70 when the price is over $2.00. Not because i cant afford it but simply because it pisses me off.

I vaguely remember the 70's and waiting in line on odd days to get 5 gallons of gas Today, we don't have to do that And, we continue to buy huge vehicles Maybe the difference between then and now is, We know our vehicles get better gas mileage then, in the 70s and put out less pollutants Plus, we REFUSE to let the Politicians, tree huggers and gas companies control us, like in the 70s At least, those are some of my thoughts

If gas hits $3 I'm taking the heel-to-toe express to work everyday! I can't afford to put $60 in my Dodge every 3-4 days. Gonna have to pick up a Geo to drive to work As for slowing down, I have stopped driving 75 for 2 reasons; 1: being gas prices and 2: being the price of my tickets when I do get stopped I really wish the government could intervene on the prices of gasoline, they seem to stick their nose everywhere else(yea I'm talking to you, the one spying on me )
As for the writer of the article about solar flair-ups or whatever the hell he was talking about, learn to punctuate! I have a hard enough time reading articles like that when the authors use proper grammar and punctuation. Guess it's on tape for a reason.

Last time I saw a heel-to-toe I was giving a sobriety test
