Sounds like I need to stop by my dealer. He sells and races KTMs, maybe he's heard about it.

TPR, when the KTM hits the market. Are they going to force kawasaki from making the orange color kfx 400? Just curious Everyone has a color that is recognized as a particular manufactorer Honda red, Yamaha blue, Kawasaki green, KTM orange., Suzuki yellow.

Nope, case in point, Honda makes a Yellow 250 and 400ex. Sure there are brand colors, but you'll have a hard time trying to sue over someone using a color. Heck, Yamaha has used every color in the book, it was only recently that they settled on blue as their "official color"
Back in the late 80's early 90's if you rode a Honda, you rode red, Suzuki=yellow, Kawasaki=green and Yamaha= a variety of pastels, teals and white. There was a time when Honda had a white and red color scheme etc.
Bomb has yellow and red, as does Artic Cat....I think I have made my case......

The Phantom.....is greatness personified, Mr. D....

I figured as much But with them coming back into the atv scene I thought they might to get the orange back in their corner

I cant imagine KTM making a quad any color but orange.
Last bike I owned that was orange was a '79 can-am 250. The only thing that wasnt orange was the tires, wheels and the engine. I hated the color but was offered a sponsorship if I rode it. Ended up painting all the steel (and there was plenty of it) blue. It then looked pretty good. Never could get it to handle consistantly even after replacing the shocks and fork with the best after market parts available. I swore I would never buy a orange bike again. Never say never.

MWQ, did you ever have the chance to ride the "legendary" Suzuki Cyclone??? If so did you ever have it start backwards???? My uncle had one, scary as heck, he showed me once how when you would start it, somtimes the kickback on the kickstarter would accidentally fire the motor in reverse....imagine clicking into first then...ahhhhhhh!!!

The Phantom...prefers moving forward....

TM 400? Yes once, made me ride 250s exclusively until I rode a '82 CR 480. I never had it fire back wards on me but did witness it at riding areas when I was younger. It was something about the timing being real close to tdc and backfiring and starting at the same time. OMG.
