Wake Boarding

You want to start of kind of fast, and then keep it around 25 mph. I don't really get to do it anymore, but it's the funnest watersport I have done

From my expierences the driver makes all the difference. You want to start off at a speed that allows you to "get up". Then its as fast as you want to go.

Start out slow. The wakeboard is so big it can get you up with little speed. And don't go too fast, riding a wakeboard the first time feels like you are on a bar of soap, very slippery. I am more of a skiing fan myself, although due to my location I haven't done anything for 2 years!

I just was wakeboarding this weekend. The easiest way to get out of the water is by haveing the boat smoothly accelerate. and the speed we ride at is about 18mph for my fat *** and the lighter girls around 15 or 16. basically you want the boat throwing as big of a wave as possible. The way most people start is to float on your back and let the board suck up to your butt and just kinda slip to over the surface of the water. I start with the nose of the board pointed at the boat and my back foot under waterbasically like slolom ski. It works better for me that way. Im up outta the water and off to the side before i even catch the propwash.

Yea, I think the easiest way to learn to get up on it is leave the board sideways until you get up and going and then turn the front towards the boat. Once you get used to it, it is nothing to get up and going.
For big wakes, Fat Sacks baby! That will get you some airtime with a good cut into the wake.

I can get up on 1 ski with no effort, but I can't get up on a knee board to save my life. I know it's just a matter of doing it the first time and then it's no big deal. Too bad I have to wait til Aug. to try it.
