It will pull ya, you might have to use the clutch a lot cause of your weight. Yes you have to mix gas and 2-stroke mix. Just be carefull, the power on these is a lot different than that of your recon.

Sounds like it is a late 80's yz to me. You need to mix the gas and the oil. I use torco gp7 and mix it 40:1. That is 3.2 ozs of oil to 1 gallon of gas.

Yea that's the oil. There is numerous brands of oil. Do you have a motorcycle shop near by? They will carry something you can use and should be able to explain how much oil to mix with your gas.

yz,s went from yellow to white and red around 84-85 then went to blue in 94-95 (with a white and blue opp.) if it has disk brakes in the back its newer then a 85 , if it has inverted forks (upside down) its newer then a 88 and yea itll have plenty of power , once you get use to the power delivery youll know how to get off the line in the powerband then you shouldnt have no problem spinning the back tire all the way into 6th gear , a Ratio cup is the easiest way to mix your gas you should be able to pick one up at a powersports dealer for about 5bucks i mix my bikes 36:1 and its very important that you use oil for a watercooled engine the oil contaner/jug should have "TCW2 or TCW3" (two cycle watercooled) on it some where ,if you run cheap corner store chainsaw oil in it itll blow up in no time, name brand outboard boat 2stroke oil works great (like pennzoil or mercury) my personal preference is castrol TTS fully synthetic b,cuz its made for extremely high RPMs and my tip to you is DO NOT under estimate that bike b,cuz its a 125cc they make around 30 horsepower and can be very nasty so hold on tight when the powervaulve kicks in and have fun man......oh yea my old 82 runs 65 and my buddys 89yz125 runs 74 bonestock
