Default Weight lifting......

Well, my schedule for weight lifting is going to the YMCA every day except sat. and sun. and i go at about 7 o clock at night until 9:15. is it true that if you want to weight lift you also have to do some heavy lifting around the house in the yard or at work? because basically i sit around lately, i start working next week.... but what i'm asking is for those of you who know more about this stuff than me..... do you have to keep your muscles working at home and every where when your not at the Ymca, i go pretty moderate at tHe Ymca, i do all the muscle groups every day in moderation. the reason i brought this up is because my mom, says i will loose muscle if i don't come out and help her plant the garden, i hate planting, but it made me think, will it really make me loose muscle? or if i keep weight lifting will i keep the muscle.....

thanks alot...

For maximum results you should lift strenuously and then take one day off to rest muscles and allow time to recuperate and grow. Many serious athletes do upper body one day and lower body next day for a 6 day per week schedule with each muscle group working 3 days per week. Cardiovascular can be done every day.
You must obey your mommy or your muscles will turn into a shrinking pile of DS.

Are you lifting for size and mass??? Or strength??? If you are still building mass, wait till you get ready to cut.... And then do all the work your Mom wants....

i'm doing both, you have to do low weight and high reps to get the build, and high weight low reps to get strong, i start off with low weight in the first half hour of lifting and as i work into my second set of reps i up the weights...... the way i see it, if your weight lifting, your getting strong, and if you keep at it you get built and it'll show.....
i just weight lift, don't care about getting ripped, but i have noticed results, in strength and just overall looks.... i think i might try that vigorous 6 Day a week work out doing upper arms, on mon, wed. fri. and lower body on tues, thurs, and saturday.... and take sunday, maybe saturday off.
