I was reading in the paper today that someone was killed while riding an atv. The personally dont know the person who was killed, or know of anyone who does know him, but I do send out my thoughts to his family.

Yah, thats very sad, I saw on CNN where they were going to start cracking down on ATV'ers. The bad thing is, it's a very small percentage of idiots who cause trouble, and then some parents who don't teach their children right.

I guess people see 4-wheels and think it's just a hyped up tractor with handlebars. It's baffling really that people can't respect them more.
My wife had a friend die riding on the back of a quad. He was on the back with his older brother, no helmets, trying to jump a ditch. He hit his mid-section on the rack during the crash suffered internal injuries and died.
Because of this my wife was scared to death of ATVs. At first she didn't even have the slightest interest in riding. But after educating her on the safety and teaching her how to ride she loves it. From the moment she learned they can be safe and fun she was hooked. Even after hitting the dirt twice this year already she is still excited about riding. This is her first full year of riding in her life so she is still learning. I was actually worried her first crash might be her last because she would get scared and not want to ride anymore, but she it totally hooked....she's a rider.. ........she is........ONE OF US NOW.......
