Mud Tire Shootout

I really enjoyed the 27" mud tire shootout, too bad I can't put some on my Scrambler for mud running.

One thing that I think should have been included, as well as with every tire review no matter what the use, is the TRUE tire height. If you took the tallest and shortest 25" tires out right now, there is a big difference!

Does anyone have the DW January issue? In the "Over the bars" article it shows the 18 wheeled Maxzilla. If anyone has it I would like to know how to order it. Or if someone had it and a scanner and was willing to email it to me that would be awesome. Thanks for any info.

Who won the 27" shootout? Which is better for trail riding? which was better in the mud? What tires were tested?

Robert,
Tires in the shootout were all 27", they were the Interco Vampire, Stu Tri-Claw Magnum, Maxxis Mud Bug, ITP AG Tire, and the ITP XCT Blackwater. DW said the Vampires were the best in the mud. The Blackwaters were the better trail ride.

OK, this is the way it is, straight up...

SPORT RIDERS : subscribe to ATVsport

UTILITY ATVERS : subscribe to ATV Magazine

A LITTLE OF BOTH : go ahead and go with Dirt Wheels or 4-wheel ATV Action

Personally, I subscribe to all 4, and look forward to every one arriving on my door step. The one I personally love is ATVsport magazine. 100% sport quads, racing, and riding. It sounds like ATVsport is what most of you in here need.

Ride,

Do you have a number for the ATV magazine?
If so please e-mail me with it. I have ATV sport (will be letting that expire) but since I have a King Quad I prefer less sport type articles and more how I can use my Utility type quad for other things, Hunting, rock climbing, farming etc. (I have to have good excuses so the wife doesn't get up set when I spend money on it).

I had a subscription to 4WA but dropped it, since a lot of articles appear duplication of Dirtwheels. I am maintaining that but I wish they had a little more utility type articles.

Thanks,

I received my October issue 2 weeks ago in the mail. Best issue I ever got, because when I got to page 160 my 4yr. old son was in the center of the page. Everyone needs to check it out.
