Default $59.00, 2000 lb. winches. Any good????

I've seen 2000 lb. winches on ebay for $59.00 with the mounting. What's up with them. Are they worth it and does anyone know how they hold up? Was thinking about buying one to operate my plow (up and down) But if I'm in a pinch and need one to really work,,,,will it? What do ya think?

It will work, just how long is the question. If it were just to pull you out maybe once or twice, it may be worth it. Since you want to use it on plow, I'd be more apt to get something a little more proven. If it craps out on a trail, chances are someone will be by and get you out. If it craps out half way through plowing the drive, you may be stuck with a blade in the down postition and a bunch more shoveling to do. For that application, I'd say go with Warn, Ramsey or Mile Marker.

Ive used 2 of them for a year or so and no problems yet. one runs a hoist for my quad , and one is mounted to the rafters for lifting in the garage, work great.

I put one on my Z400, works great I made a custom winch mount that would take on a battle ship So far I have pulled two Polaris 500 that were stuck to their bellys in mud

I agree you get what you pay for, however, I know guys who have problems with warns and have paid 4-6 times as much. So, when this one goes out, I'll just buy another one

You get what you pay for is true. is it worth 60$? well worth it. just to hold up my quad and take the place of my comealong ,which by the way cost 3 times the price of the winch, I use it to pull the boat out, etc, etc. Went and got my buddy to pick me up another one that I have dedicated to a large hoist that We drive atv's and snowmachines on to work on and clean. they won't pull a grizzly out of the Northern Ontario loon crap, but neither would the 2500lb warn. they are good enough for smaller atvs or even as a rear mounted winch on a big one . If you expect it to last? I,ve had mine over 2 years and the 2nd one about 8months. let you know how they last later.

I had a $79 winch from Harbour Freight that I used for 2 years to operate a 56" plow. It worked fine, except that it was only 1/2 as fast as my neighbor's Warn.
