Garmin eTrex Legend C ??
#1
I'm in the market for a GPS and am leaning towards the Legend C. I don't really need ot for anything but the trails, but may use it for road navigation too. I like the longer battery life, USB hookup and additional memory over the Legend.
I'm only looking at Garmins because consensus seems to be Garmin is the best in the game right now. I want something on the basic side, and don't want to go into the $300+ range. I can get the C from GPSNow for $244.
A friend just ordered two Rino 120s, but I've read the FRS function isn't as good as a regular FRS radio, and I already have and FRS, to boot.
Is it true that Garmin's maps suck?
Anything of concern I should look for/be aware of with the Legend C?
Thanks,
Rick

My wife rides with a Legend (B&W) on her quad and I have a Garmin 60C on mine. The Legend C is a nice unit but don't forget that the mapping software will add $100 to your purchase. The basemap that comes with the unit only has the major roads on it. I'd get City Select software for maximum road detail and that is $100.
All GPS basemaps suck, yes but the add-on software is pretty good.
