Default Radios???

We are a family of four....my husband is wondering if there are any kind of 2 way radios that we can put in our helmuts or mount to our quads where we can talk to each other while riding in the dunes? Any ideas without spending thousands???

I have been toying with the same thing. I am using Cobra Microtalk radios but I was getting alot of engine noise so I got some throat mics from foxfire or firefox and have been playing with them. The radio needs to have a voice operation function(VOX), and the cobras do. I have gotten them to work at home OK but haven't tried them on the quads riding yet. The reciever is just an earpiece and the throat mic goes on the front of your neck. All together about $140 maybe. I have been meaning to experiment more but haven't.

For snowmobilers, there is a communication system that mounts in the helmet. You can use multiple sets together. 10-4 !

There are too many to list.
Do a google for "2 way radio" "helmet" "snowmobile" (all at the same time).
Or you could call a local snowmobile dealership.

We've used the Collett radios for years now. I consider them a "must have" if you are riding with kids. We started with their older versions and now all have the platinum 900 series. Usually they go for about $180 per unit, looks like they're having a sale right now.
