Was wondering about pants to be exact. I normally wear jeans but want to get some pants made for sport riding. Since I live in Florida I was wondering how hot they are, they look like they would be to me? I see alot of people wearing them, but they are also wearing long sleeved shirts in 95 degree heat with 100% humidity, I think they are crazy. Are some pants made to be cooler than others?? Any help is appreciated.

Hey redtree we are from Tampa also. We hang at Crooms and have been doing night riding in Ocala.
As far as the pants I wear them when its about 85*
and lower. I also see them wear them in 90*+ heat.
They do protect your legs from the pipes though.
But I wear shorts in the summer and a Thor racing shirt short sleeved.
E-mail me and let me know what you ride and you can come ride with us.
We are heading up to Ocala Sunday am early.

Riding pants are cooler than wearing jeans generally. They are made of layers of breathable materials that let air in easier than denim.
Plus they look much cooler

I'd say riding pants are cooler (look and temp) than jeans. I've always been wearing complete riding gear, and never been really hot (or hotter than jean/T-shirt should I say). One good thing to keep "cool" while riding. If you have a chest protector, wear it UNDER the shirt. That way, there will be some air circulation on your skin. It works great.

Those long-sleeve riding jerseys are a lot cooler (heat-wise) than you might think, if you've never worn one. And they look pretty cool (hip) as well!
