Is the ATC250R engine the same as the TRX250R engine? What about the Tecate-3 and Tecate-4 engines, are they the same? If not, what are the differences and y make differences?

Evan,

My brother owns 2 85ATC250R's and my other brother owns an 86ATC250R. The motors are different. I also believe the motors are different between the ATC and the TRX.

Actually there are differences in all the 250R motors. As for use, they will all fit in any of the bikes in question and work just fine. there are way too many differences to list; although they are not necessarily noticible unless you rebuild motors yourself and see them firsthand.
