I am MExican American and support the marches to the fullest. You guys think it's a walk in the park to get your greencard. My wifes dad has been here for ten years paying taxes but still has yet to recieve his green card and is a man like you and i who works hard for his family and he doesent wait for his welfair check. every month like you think.

i am with you guys for the rest of the illegals to do it the right way and pay there dues but America makes it hard for a reason. My dad foght for this country in vietnam so i know what American pride is all about..I dont have a problem with other people coming to this country just understand that you should love and appreciate America and alll the great things this place can do, not ride around with the name of your City in Mexico on the back of your truck, in that case if you love it so much go back is what i say. I do disagree with all the free rides we give here because that takes away from my kids.

You guys make it seem like this country wasent started with immigrants and nobody of any race should be here .

LTZ those statistcs you posted seem a little one sided to me, I think you got those from the minutemen site..lol

You seem like a nice fellow American and 99% of what you say makes sense.....the 1% that don't is that you support the march cause YOU NEED TO TAKE A BETTER LOOK AT LTZ'S POST! I'll bet 99% of them Illegals have done more Illegal than just cross the border....you need to choose a side alot of your brown buddies are stealing S.S#'s and Identities...I know cause my cousin had his stolen and the FBI tracked them down....

"Just as all modern crimes against habitation have their origins in the ancient law of trespass, all modern theft laws have their origins in the ancient law of larceny. Trespass was designed to protect real property (items of possession affixed to the ground) from invasion, damage, and destruction. Larceny was designed to protect personal property (items of possession that were moveable) from MISAPPROPRIATION and STEALING. Up until the Industrial Revolution, larceny was the only kind of theft on the books,
and a felony punishable by death (a "hanging offense")."

We went out to dinner Monday night. I picked Mexican, because I won't get to go out for awhile, because of knee surgery. Anyway, the restraunt was closed, BUT there was a pack of Mexicans, re-roofing the place. How is it the "waiters", taking the hard jobs, couldn't make to work, while the labobers could pack pink cement tiles up a ladder?

I think it is a crock, to have to take measures such as a day off, to attract attention to a cause. Oh but re roof the burrito building.

They may be one sided but facts are facts, and they were taking from your hometown newspaper and the internet. You know as well as I do what it's like out here in CA, especially in the SFV. Now I'm no racist nor do I have a problem with mexicans(my best freinds name is Chevi for Gods sake) or legal immigrants. My Grandparents came over on a boat from Italy way back when and went through all the proper channels to become citizens here. I am so proud of that fact that I went to Ellis Island and found their names on the manuscript so I could see it for myself. I then requested a certificate from the Immigration and Naturalization Board to hang on my walls that bears their names because it means alot to me and I'm proud of my heritage and them, just as I'm sure you are of yours.
I have no problem with immigration but it doesn't mean I want to pay for it, and that we all do and it ain't cheap. Take a good look at some of those figures in my first post. That's alot of coin right there. Imagine what kind of housing we could build for the homeless or healthcare and medication for the elderly if it wasn't being spent on someone doing something ILLEGAL.
and I won't even tell you my feelings about the minutemen.......................

That's the thing about opinions, everyone has one and not all agree with canned media reporting designed to sell consumer products. Many Americans are too lazy to get off their fat rears and work for under $10/hr, so I'm in favor of opening the borders with a guest worker program. All we're experiencing is a natural redistribution of labor in line with a global society. Hopefully it will reduce our workforce standard of living to where our products again become competitive before we're completely broke.
I haven't finished reading this thread, but I have to comment immediately after reading this.

I can not believe that you have an opinion like this, and must say that your opinions have now lost my respect. I remember a thread with a guy named motof150, or something like that. You, I, and many others were trying to set this clown straight about illegally riding on other peoples property. He had some sort of feeling of entitlement. He was wrong, and so are you.

Motof150 should have been going through the proper channels and getting permission to ride. There are other parrallels to this same situation, where you were actually standing up for whats right. These mexicans crossing the border illegally should have been asking permission too. There has been a guest worker program for years. We call it green cards and work visas. Motof150 tried to rationalize his trespassing by saying "people rode here for 20 years, now this buys the land and closes it down for riding. Just because blah blah blah...", or something to that effect. Some of these protesters are saying that America took some land from them, over a hundred years ago, so they should be entitled to come here. I had another direct relation to motof150's way of thinking but I just lost it.

Bottom line is, there are proper channels to go through. Entering this country illegally is not one of them. And we certainly should not be changing our laws to enable them. Otherwise, we should be letting motof150 ride on yours and every other land owners property as well.

For those of you who like statistics or are followers of the future, here's one with a projection projection that should be of interest; 24% of all Americans will be of Hispanic origin by 2050.

http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/2004/cb04-ff14.pdf#search='hispanic%20population%20percentag e%20in%20california'

The easy read:

http://www.infoplease.com/spot/hhmcensus1.html

You can do a quick calculation for states who feel threatened by Hispanics, just double the current percentage of
Hispanics in say, AZ, CA, and TX. At that point, I'd recommend Spanish as a useful language in places like Los Angeles, CA.

I don't think the Minutemen will be capable of coping with almost double the current US Hispanic population. And politicians who make our laws and enforce them certainly aren't going to dump on that big of a voting block when most important elections are decided by a swing vote of well under 10% of the voting public and 1% in big ones.

According to learned oracles, change is the most feared aspect for most people. The US is undergoing a lot of changes and I think the immigration issue is just another political refocus to distract the public from more serious matters.

I read that illegal immigration costs the US $70-billion/yr in net difference between tax revenue and social services expense. That's chump change when compared to just the pork our politicians spend in grabs for power using fuel tax and SS trust money. Those numbers never include the underground economy, cash work being the primary income of illegals, nor that contribution to a GDP now driven by internal transactions, where the employer pays taxes and wouldn't be in business and spending his/her money in the economy without willing labor. I'd be curious to see that number.

Regardless of negligible defined tax cost or racist views disguised as patriotism, labor redistribution is here and it'll be here for the foreseeable future. Cope with it and accept change as there's nothing that can be done to stop it other than severe economic depression or lazy, fat legal Americans wanting bottom of the food chain jobs now sought after by illegal immigrants out of desperation and good luck with that one.

For the patriots; other forums have calculated the resouces required to seal our borders and it isn't doable.
